Scrap the Honor Mechanic
I just made it to the room just before the final boss for my second ascendancy and because I'm a warrior, it's literally impossible. Every base monster attacks faster than me, and there's very little faster attack speed on the tree.
WHY emphasize that slow, heavy attacks and armor are viable if you're going to have a mechanic which forces playing a fast/ranged class? I have literally never heard anybody give positive feedback for the honor system. It's asinine. Please get rid of it, or change the consequences of losing it. You still get your ascendancy points if you complete the area, but drops decrease with lost honor/honor thresholds to be eligible for trial-exclusive uniques to drop. Anything other than "Yeah you spent an hour but unfortunately something touched you and you need to start over." Slow and heavy attacks really only happen on a 2h and theres a reason for it. You deal massive damage.
Use a 1h you dont need a 2h, especially for the early parts of the game. Pick up honor resist relics, and youll be fine. After the patch theres not much more the devs can do to make sekhemas easier, you might have to try chaos if you cannot do sekhemas in its current state. They dont need to touch it any further. But if you need any tips on what boons or afflictions to look out for post them in here |

You know, I was a little too hot to consider it right after I wasted an hour, but maybe I just need to rethink how important relics with honor resistance are. I ended up doing the A3 trial for my second ascendancy, since my character is just too slow right now.
I do think it wouldn't be a bad call to add more common ways to restore honor (little offshoots full of traps that lead to a merchant or something), and I do think some of the ways you can lose huge amounts of honor are kind of insane--given how long the trial can be overall--but I honestly haven't given the whole system a fair shake yet. I love PoE and I want the game to stay very challenging. Last edited by VendettaMachine#4953 on Dec 21, 2024, 10:59:12 AM
