Health potions stop working from keyboard, only clicking portrait works consistently

I have been encountering a HUGE issue with my ability to play the game. When I try to use a health potion, often hitting 1 on the keyboard (or the button I mapped to '1' on my mouse), it refuses to work. I can click the actual picture of my health potion 100% of the time, but using the mouse/keyboard just doesn't work most of the time.

Sometimes I can get it working by alternating my keyboard key '1' and my mouse button, but I have to alternate them for several (9+ clicks) clicks while running away from enemies. I've made it pretty far playing souls-like gameplay, but as I get farther in the game it becomes less viable. The queen of filth's arena was too small for me to hit a potion safely (I can ALWAYs use a health potion if I click the image of the potion on my belt).

It is not a hardware issue, as every single input via the mouse or keyboard put a '1' on my text document. I tried a pack check and it didn't resolve the issue. It's not at all based on map modifiers or enemy modifiers, as it happens with white/blue mobs and I'm not mapping yet.

I'm playing a monk, and I tend to play melee (yes I'm aware melee is hard mode), but this makes the game un-winnable unless I over-level like crazy.

This has been happening to me, but not my friends, and I can't find another person who is having this issue online (But might be due to all the false positives).
