I can't get my 3rd ascendancy

"
Note: Trying to be helpful

1. If you practice on some lower level sanctums 40ish / 50ish you may be able to farm up useful relics. I like Honor Resistance, more max Honor, more Honor recovered, etc. For me I knew for a fact I was going to mess up but those sorts of mods gave me enough cushion to both survive a bad room AND recover before the next boss.

Oddly even low relics like those that give "extra water" might be useful if you can find a merchant -- buying relics can be super helpful.

2. Get 25% [or better] move speed boots.

3. Don't fight anything you don't absolutely have to. If you can [safely] avoid a fight that's half the battle.

4. Try to avoid afflictions that take away your ability to path through the trials. Afflictions, unless taken very late, that hide the room type, room reward, take you to a random room, etc. can be run killers.

5. You could run some level 64 or 65 trials. I don't think (??) that they would be worlds harder than L61 and they are much cheaper.

6. If you're really good at Ultimatum [Trial of Chaos] maybe give that a shot instead. Unless I'm mistaken you technically have a choice.

7. If you're a warrior maybe play like a coward -- it worked for me -- Shout, Hammer of the Gods, let it hit for good damage, be full evasive until your next hammer??

8. Don't be afraid to overlevel the fight.

FYI: It took me 2 or 3 times of "find the right trial key by luck", run the trial, try again until succeed.

Thanks for posting an actual reply, I haven't gotten any ultimatum tokens that give me ascendancy yet, I had one in normal difficulty but crashed during it and never found any other tokens that give points after that, so I have no idea how difficult trial of chaos is, apparently after the first time you do it in normal you can't do it again until it drops in lvl 75 maps? Seems odd I wish I had actually gotten to try it, an alternative ascendancy route would have been nice, hopefully the 3rd route is less toxic when that comes out.

Do defenses actually matter? Obviously there's honour resistance and the amount scales off your HP + ES but what else matters? It doesn't seem to matter what touches me I get chunked no matter what it is. Capped resists and I am still getting chunked for like 1/3 of my honour in a single hit from basically anything

It feels like the only way to do it is by being lucky and anyone who says otherwise is just lying to themselves, one bad affliction and the entire run is bricked, whether or not that happens is pure luck. What happens to a CI player when they get forced into the 0 energy shield affliction? Do they have go 0 dmg taken from then on?

I can't even imagine doing this as melee, I will never be able make a melee character if this is the required content for unlocking ascendancies

Furthermore as you only played one league in PoE1 recently and got only 9 challenges done with a level 91 char I assume, that you will be learning the basics of PoE1 and also PoE2 for quite a while and that you are not nearly done with understanding all mechanics and how good builds really work. Keep going, and in a few more 100 hours you will look back at this and understand, that it wasn't such a big problem at all.

Thanks for reminding me to change my privacy settings, creep. Not everyone plays every league, I came back to PoE2 because it is new and interesting, sanctum is not new or interesting.

I hated sanctum with a passion in the first game and I hate it even more in the 2nd game now that it is part of the ascendancy system.

It was a mistake to tie these systems together.

I'm with you on hating sanctum, but after bashing my skull against the wall for quite some time and learning to overcome the challenge (a melee character before the buffs to melee in sanctum was a pain), it felt so good to do it.

Tell you what, if you're genuinely struggling by the time I wake up... fuck nvm, can't go to bed now. If you're online now, shoot me a dm here and I'll carry you.

I'm all for people getting better and improving, but I also hate the crushing struggle and emotions to go with it.

(And if anyone else reading is struggling, the offer stand, I'll carry you)
Definitely over turned. tried my first trial of chaos again.

lvl 38 Trial attempted at lvi 56. Still failed a few times even though the mobs were instantly dying and I'm breezing through the end of act 5.

First death was at boss because a tornado spawned on me and killed me before I could even dodge roll out. Second death was due to getting clipped by one of the 20 exploding balls that track you as I got on the elevator.

Finally done with the first now and don't want to even bother with the rest of the points. If I'm done with it how will i convince my first time player friends to stick with it.

That damn birdnado is definitely overturned or bugged. I can't imagine a one shot against high Phys mitigation warriors 10-20 levels over will last EA.

Hard agree here, it is some serious bullshit. But after dying to it once and watching my replay, the chicken has this animation. Haven't died to it since, nevertheless I was annoyed because ain't no fucking way it should kill you when you're dodge rolling away.
First off, a divine each?!
I just looked it up and they're 1ex each, which makes sense because I get like 10 of them in a day from map drops.

And second, what's your honour resistance? You can get upto 75% and I believe there are relics that give max honour resistance.

With those, you can get hit by a boss and only lose 100-200 honor.

Yeah its a bad system but we gotta use the tools available at the moment

Yeah, the spin is a nice tell, but it's only like a half second animation and that is nowhere near enough time for melee when you factor in human and network latency if it's meant to delete you in .1 second. The titan knife slice also obliterated my warrior, but not getting out of the way of that one was thoroughly on me.
