I can't get my 3rd ascendancy
|
I clear t8 maps easy but I can't do the 3rd floor trial to save my life, the trial tokens cost a divine each attempt or hours of farming a lvl 61 zone to buy the lowest lvl possible trial token, there's an obvious problem if the most valuable ones are the lowest levels, no one wants to do this chore.
The honour system requires you to respec your character to glass cannon because defenses are meaningless since you're supposed to take zero damage, even if you made it easy, it's still never going to be fun. The fact that this is mandatory content in order to progress your character is going to make to quit the game and wait until this content is no longer necessary. The honour system does not require you to go glass you dont know how sekhemas works if you believe this

" Explain to me why it doesn't. |

" Why even reply at all if you have nothing to say? |

My understanding is that the honor system scales with damage taken, so having higher resistances and armor should reduce the amount of honor damage taken.
You also want to stack as much honor resistance relics as possible before entering. I recommend you farm them out from 1/2 floor tokens. Definitely beat the 2 floor one first before attempting a 3 floor one to unlock additional relic slots. Its not a good system but I think a lot of people misunderstand how the trial works and skip all the beneficial ways to make the experience less miserable. This is entirely on GGG of course, but until they figure it out, we might as well do what we can. |

" Because you are thinking extremely binary if you think a mechanic requires you to go x. I think the better question is what makes you think sekhemas is even easier, especially on later floors if you are glass? The 2 giants will probably one shot you with a single slam on floor 2 or the scorps tail swipe for that matter on floor 3 And you can forget Zarokh as glass. You probably wont even get to be frozen before you just get hit from behind. So again I dont know why you think you need to be glass for this mechanic? " There is just so much wrong in this post! Yes, the lvl 61 cost a div but at 62 it's 5 ex and at 64 it's 1 ex. If you really clear T8 maps successfully, then 62 and 64 shouldn't be a problem. You totally should also be tanky, in addition to dealing good damage. You get higher max honor and less honor damage then. It's as simple as with every damage in the game. If it's still to hard for you, just learn the mechanics in the trial and how to dodge them, and get better relics (farm them in easier Trials or buy them). I needed a few tries, with continuously better relics, but I finally did it with some luck at the afflictions and boons (supported by smart room choices) without my honor ever going below 2k. " If you really want to quit because of not getting ascendency points, feel free to. I personally think, after the last patch the Trial is in a good state. Furthermore as you only played one league in PoE1 recently and got only 9 challenges done with a level 91 char I assume, that you will be learning the basics of PoE1 and also PoE2 for quite a while and that you are not nearly done with understanding all mechanics and how good builds really work. Keep going, and in a few more 100 hours you will look back at this and understand, that it wasn't such a big problem at all. Last edited by lord_joshi#6960 on Dec 20, 2024, 10:11:20 PM

If you think this is bad just wait until you try for your fourth ascendancy! It's even more fun, totally balanced, and fair. Think chaos trial is hard? Pff, well how about you complete it three times just for one chance at the REAL boss to get those final points. You'd better not mess up or you're back to having to beat it 3 times for one more chance. Doesn't that sound FUN?
Seriously this game was fun but I'm about done with it now after 100+ hours and being completely road blocked by this fourth ascendancy. Sehkema trial is even more of a joke as the enemies and bosses are no problem at all, truly the only issue is that you must be an absolute god and not get hit by ANYTHING unless you want massive chunks of honor removed. Seriously, get clipped by some fire trap, some snake or worm flying out of the ground, or some off screen bullshit for a massive honor hit. These trials would be completely fine if it didn't require you to play as if it's hardcore and not get hit by anything no matter how trivial the actual damage is to your hp. Seriously these hits do literally nothing to actual HP, yet thousands of honor potentially removed by certain hits. This shit is beyond frustrating and only serves to piss people off and make them play something else at this point. |

" I totally agree. I personally hate Sanctum with passion, but it was fine as a summoner. A touch hard as melee, but after the patch it became alright. Made my third ascendancy on first try as a, at that time, T7 clearing monk. " Bruh... you can't blame the game for your own stupidity :wheeze: Consider it a lesson learned. Besides, you can go to lower trial and experiment. I recommend abusing the fuck out of dodge roll when it comes to traps in the second and third trial (before GGG nerfs it) Gl out there! |

Note: Trying to be helpful
1. If you practice on some lower level sanctums 40ish / 50ish you may be able to farm up useful relics. I like Honor Resistance, more max Honor, more Honor recovered, etc. For me I knew for a fact I was going to mess up but those sorts of mods gave me enough cushion to both survive a bad room AND recover before the next boss. Oddly even low relics like those that give "extra water" might be useful if you can find a merchant -- buying relics can be super helpful. 2. Get 25% [or better] move speed boots. 3. Don't fight anything you don't absolutely have to. If you can [safely] avoid a fight that's half the battle. 4. Try to avoid afflictions that take away your ability to path through the trials. Afflictions, unless taken very late, that hide the room type, room reward, take you to a random room, etc. can be run killers. 5. You could run some level 64 or 65 trials. I don't think (??) that they would be worlds harder than L61 and they are much cheaper. 6. If you're really good at Ultimatum [Trial of Chaos] maybe give that a shot instead. Unless I'm mistaken you technically have a choice. 7. If you're a warrior maybe play like a coward -- it worked for me -- Shout, Hammer of the Gods, let it hit for good damage, be full evasive until your next hammer?? 8. Don't be afraid to overlevel the fight. FYI: It took me 2 or 3 times of "find the right trial key by luck", run the trial, try again until succeed. |
