Can't access Act 3 Cruel after killing Act 2 boss and closing the game

Today I killed the final boss in act 2 cruel and teleported back to town but didn't proceed the quest into act 3.
I instead teleported to Trial of Sekhemas and when I came back to the caravan it locked me out of the instance where you can travel to act 3. I've tried redoing the boss but when I kill him and teleport back to town it doesn't go into the end-of-act phasing.

It fixed when I left and re-entered the act. Problem solved.
