Maps just aren't it currently...

I normally love this type of endgame. Maps in POE1 were tons of fun for me. Monoliths in Last Epoch. Hell even Rifts in Diablo 3. But currently there are so many random AoE attacks, on death effects, spell effect cluttering, and mob swarming that this just isn't fun with the current 1 death setup. There is too much RNG with survivability to be limited to one death per run. And before anyone tells me to get more defenses and that, I have maxed resistances (besides chaos) an effective HP pool of 2.4k, and 85% evasion (map tiers 1 and 2 currently). Even running maps with monsters 5+ levels lower than me there are so many random ways to die that you can't even see. Breach is one aspect that is pretty much an instant skip even with a good mapping build (frost monk). So many spell effects going off from monsters and my own I can't see anything going on until I get literally one shot through all of those defenses. I had one of those rare mobs that are trapped and you kill them for essences spawn. Click it 3 times and got one swing off before I was one shot by everything (keep in mind these are lvl 66 mobs and I'm 71). Not only do I lose my loot I didn't pick up yet, I lose my waystone and the modifiers to that map. Then I guess in later tiers you lose exp also? which Jonathan in an interview had said the whole point of the one death system was to get rid of the exp loss on death. It just overall isn't an enjoyable experience. I am also saying that as a veteran to the ARPG genre (since diablo 1 and 2 days) and as someone who has thoroughly enjoyed my time up until this point with this game. I currently have two characters at early maps and have not had fun with either of them even though I literally couldn't put the game down the whole time I was playing through the campaign. Overall it feels like maps were designed for POE1 builds not POE2.
