there is something wrong... what happened to the economy?!

Yeah every upgrade is now 3+ divines. Haven't seen a single one drop yet at level 82. Fun.

" While I am 100% sure that bots are part of the problem I am equally as sure that it's also due to people reaching endgame/mapping. The people that were/are ahead are going to eat well for a while. When more people are mapping supply will go up and prices will come down. The market is nowhere near established yet, nevermind settled. With that said, it is incredibly obvious that bots are active on the trade site tinkering with markets and I hope GGG takes very heavy handed action against these rats. " People simply reaching endgame doesn't remotely account for the type of inflation that's happened the last couple of days. The type of curve people generally reach endgame at is pretty well established in the context of a poe season and there's no particular reason to expect that wouldn't apply here too. Bots (of the trading persuasion, rather than the playing persuasion) typically dont drive inflation up at this sort of rate either though - usually its the opposite and they curb it to some degree. I'm not particularly sure what's happening in the poe2 economy right now but it's definitely not "normal" in either of these ways - people reaching endgame or bots. |

" So you think there is nothing wrong with the Economy when we literally have a certain amount of players who have between tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of exalts? Where do you think they got them from? |

EDIT: Forgot to mention that over the last few days some in-game item pricing tools have hit. That can clue you in to the "real" value of the random rare you picked up so it's getting harder to "snipe" really good deals.
*************************************** The only thing that surprises me about the economy is that it took this long to get there. I would imagine that if there was a wipe & reset the economy might (?) go back to the way it was but I suspect it would only last 5-7 days as everyone would be MUCH more efficient in going through the game the second time. Unless I miss my mark I would think that mapping at T15 [or pseudo 16 or 17] would bring in vastly more loot than running low or mid-tier maps and this seems to be by design. I figure with my current gear & build [neither of which are great] I'll start having really difficult times in T8+ [juiced] maps as getting a massive gear upgrade for 1 EX just isn't going to happen. The gotcha is with crafting being in the state that it is it's not going to be easy to just get a good base and craft your own upgrade. Unless T8 maps start raining perfect bases, Exalts & regals, etc. I don't see it happenning. Right about now I miss fractured items, essence spam, the crafting bench, and eldritch currency. |

" Exactly. Feels like all the low hanging fruit for progression has been picked and the only thing left to do now is run meta and farm ex before divs run fully away to unreachable levels of inflation. My atlas hasn't stalled at least but other than lucksacking a few divine drops all the gear I've got is where I'll stay for quite a while. |

Players happened, like it will happen in any player driven economy - nothing weird about it

As i understand it , there was something to do with the beetles + a rare mob in act 2/act 5 that was basically a free for all for divs and the like. Allegedly "Bots" and "RMT" chars etc capitalized on this. While GGG did fix it, the damage was already done. Now in turn this is what we are seeing now in the market, and currency exchange. Some are players just rolling with the trend, while many are RMT related. This is just what was explained to me by someone who has played poe 1 basically every league and seen it before. *Shrug.

over powered builds that one shot that "pinnacle" bosses in less than 1s. Game is tottaly piece of unblanced in end-game and lost it's identity.
There are many zooming builds that are faster than poe 1 or diablo 4 and it ruin economy for players who normally enjoy game. |

There was a group of traders on TFT who decided to corner the divine market, then bought them up to a ceiling, and bought up a load of cheaper powerful uniques and re-listed them using divines rather than exalts.
They probably got all that money beetle farming, saw the exploit getting chopped and decided the time was right. Last edited by Strangehill#1736 on Dec 20, 2024, 10:19:11 AM
