Using controller ONCE forever disables mouse and keyboard use
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
I tried controller on my laptop (G16), didn't love it and wanted to switch back. Back to main menu, open options, tried to switch input type to mouse and keyboard. It lets me select mouse and keyboard, then when I hit A to select it, it just goes "CONTROLLER" in the top left and keeps the input method on controller... WTF. Moving around the mouse at the login screen gets a popup in the top left that says "Input: Mouse & Keyboard" but it doesn't actually work, you can see the mouse but clicking on login, options, etc. does NOTHING. I've tried everything, every combination of using controller to open the options menu then mouse to select the final option of mouse and keyboard you can think of, nothing works. Do I really have to download and re-install the entire fucking game because their controller implementation is so shit it literally bricks the install? That's what I get for trying out the obviously inferior control method I guess lmao. Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 12:27:27 AM

I was having this issue as well.. I think I reset the game or something or it eventually fixed itself.

Try starting the game with unplugged controller.

Unplugging my controller and changing the option with my mouse worked for me.
If that doesn't work, on Windows you can go to Documents > My Games > Path of Exile 2 and open the file poe2_production_Config with a text editor and search for the line that reads "user_input_mode=" without the quotes. Change that setting to wasd or mouse_and_keyboard depending on which you prefer. So for example mine says, "user_input_mode=wasd" |
