You should be able to spec through jewel sockets with weapon set skill points.
I wanted to get a to a shock magnitude cluster but could not do it since you cant pass through jewel sockets with weapon set skill slots.
It would be interesting if you could spec through jewel sockets with weapon set points and have jewels that only apply to that specific weapon equipped, enabling more possible builds with weapon swap. Last bumped on Jan 7, 2025, 9:46:43 AM

Know the post is a couple of days old, but is this specifically not meant to be a thing?
Doesn't completely invalidate the Witch Hunter's Weapon Mastery talent (or weapon set skill points in general), but sure devalues it a lot if that is the case. Been having fun playing Mace / Grenades on Merc, but diving deeper into using Weapon Master and weapon set skill points has left me quite limited being blocked by Jewel nodes. (no doubt this concept would be more viable with dex or str/dex melee weapons currently not implemented) |

I rolled a Witch Hunter just because I wanted to play around the novelty of the Weapon Master passive, but at level 33 I hit a jewel socket on the tree and noticed that it's impossible to have significant change in the build because of this.
I can't believe the devs created that to only let you chance small clusters close to eachother. For that, the normal weapon points are more than enough. The number of weapon points makes me want to create very divergent branches on the passivel tree to make fun ways to play the game. It makes no sense that jewel sockets are intended limitations to these changes. |

Yeah, really wish they'd change this. Most of the ideas I have for weapon set use are prevented by these impassable jewel sockets, which is quite annoying. I'd be fine with the socket not being usable, just let me path through it.
