How to make currency on the trade website.
|
Put your good item up for sale for 1ex.
Wait and see how fast you get messages. Ignore those messages of the people wanting to buy your item. Put the item back up for sale for a higher price based on how many messages you got. Ignore the messages you get. Repeat the process until the messages start to slow. Pure profit. A true auction house with a instant buyout needs to be put in place, above is what has been happening to me. The way it is now, just isnt good. Last bumped on Dec 18, 2024, 10:52:33 PM

And this is in an early access where people paid 30$ to play. Imagine how toxic trading will be when the game is fully out and its free-to-play so anyone can download it lol
+1 Auction House is definitely needed. |

" Thanks for perfectly proving OP's point. |

" Flipping is bad in any game, you're not even playing the game if you're doing that. You just play the AH at that point lol This is why automated AH will make it so you can never change the price of an item you posted, its just up there and a person buys it and thats it. |
|
" Gold cost on AH will stop bots from using it. Just make it like the currency exchange. They could even make it so AH only unlocks when you finish campaign and get to maps. Doesn't matter what kind of problems it may have, it would still be 1000x better than having to use trade site, whisper 50 people who never respond and go to hideouts and extra loading screens like it is now. |

" LOOOOL this has been like this since the beginning of PoE 1, no shit im lying, you had to make an actual thread on the forum to sell your items, and the game always survived, an AH would completely ruin the economy, you have one for the currency and it´s enough, it´s all the game should have. I actually like that POE2 doesn't have an auction house.
I think auction houses for gear in MMOs almost always make the game worse. But it makes a ton of sense to have an auction house/trade system in game for commodities. I think GGG found a pretty solid balance with their setup honestly. You need friction in gear trade in an MMO. BUT there is a lot of abusive behavior that happens on the gear auction house. There aren't any easy solutions but I hope it's something they put thought into. |

" You really don't know what would happen with an AH unless they try it though. And I'm sure the devs can think of something to make it work if they really wanted to put it in the game. All of these predictions about people pricefixing or whatever are just hypothetical ideas. They also said themselves that maybe in the future they might add unique items and gear onto the currency exchange during the Settlers reveal livestream anyway, so it's most likely on their list it would just take a bit of time to get it done. |
|
" The point is, if the AH has a gold cost that scales based on the rarity/power level of the item you're selling or buying then people will have to run maps and play the game eventually. They won't be able to just sit in hideout all day flipping, unless they farm up like 10 mil gold from a long farming session. And if even that's too much and breaks the market, GGG could always implement other limits. The currency exchange already has a 10-orders at a time limit on top of the gold cost. So if people want to flip items with an AH that has a gold cost with scaling on it, they would inevitably have to go run high-tier maps on a decent build to do it. I think that would be fine if it was in the game. |
