Sanctum Trial 3 rooms - minor ES affliction instant death

It happened the second room on the 3rd floor.
Along the way I have take upon the following afflictions:
- 50% choices at the merchant
- no evasion
- enemies deal 30% more damage
- some debuff me dealing less damage
- gain a minor affliction on venerating at the shrine
When it happened, I was on full health (2k HP and full ES 2k), but I still had half of my honour ~2k. I stopped and used a shrine, but the affliction I got was no Energy Shield, and it instantly killed me.
