Trading is full of scammers, price fixers and bots. Awful system.

The official trade website already integrates with the game so there is no reason why they can't just let you buy an item directly from there. Replace the 'Direct Whisper' button with a 'Buyout'. It would be a massive QOL boost and remove fake listings.

While a real AH would be preferable to the horrible website based trade system this small change would be much quicker to implement and provide an enormous QoL boost
Price fixing everything is how PoE has operated for years now. If you aren't used to it - you better get used quickly
A straight up AH would encourage more foul play in a game full of foul players. GGG would also have to make the game much harder because people would be able to 1-click search and then buy all items from a build guide. They can do that now, but there is enough friction to stop most people from doing so.

I would suggest the ability for a seller to add an automatic buyout to their item for a non-recoverable high gold cost (100k, maybe more or a recurring fee if "showcase" pricing becomes a problem.) With such a high gold cost the seller wouldn't be posting the item by accident, and it allows a high value item to sell while the player is offline. Buyers would naturally pay more to get their item automatically, ultimately negating the opportunity cost of the gold loss for the seller. Everyone is happy on the high end of trading.

I don't think a bid-system AH would work in PoE. As a prospective buyer you're going to get sniped by foul players, or if they implemented a system where a bid extends auction time it's going to be obnoxious. People are primed not to wait for items in ARPGs and it would feel bad regardless. The best defense against not underselling an item is to just not sell it if you get spammed. For buyers, sort by new, accept that a newly-posted item that seems too good to be true likely won't be sold to you, and get what you can get.

Price fixing can be alleviated by having keys/boss drops/rare item drops be common enough that middle tier players can acquire them. I don't care to play to the endgame in PoE 2 in its current state but when people are saying it costs 240 divine to fully spec the Ritual tree I just have to laugh. Why even bother engaging with the content in a game like that?

Auction house was for a long time rejected in PoE 1 with the reason "We want trade to be limited" .. After many years, we finally have a controlled/limited way of trading currency by design, not by annoying players.

Please consider this for items as well.

Current experience of trading is already the same as PoE 1.
Price fixers, scammers, bots. It's toxic, it's horrible. It ruins the game.

By all means limit it if you want, adjust as necessary. But please do something about it.

Ideas:
+ An NPC set in hideout where you list your items and others can come and buy it off the vendor. Website item found will have a link to teleport you to that hideout. You can set a limit of how many items the NPC can be selling at one point or put a gold cost to it.

+ A unique code linked to website item that you enter ingame and buy the item.
Again, can be limited (or not) by gold/space/time.

Thank you.

sure just like when they said poe2 would be an extention to existing poe1 for version 4.0 things change dude
Add Scion To PoE2
As of 1/1/25 Price fixing on poe2 has gotten so out of hand its just pages and pages of fake listings. So many it's almost impossible to figure out true price without digging deep into it. This is also causing a lot of frustration with players because, of course, those price fixers do not actually sell their items.

It has gotten arguably worse than in POE 1.
Fun things, Sad things... We can't share everything, But what we can, we should share... That is what it means to be a guild. A single persons happiness is everyone's happiness. A single persons anger is everyone's anger. And a single person's tears are everyone's tears.

Yeah unfortunetly have to agree.

Botters and price fixers might be abit harder to fix but the part I dont get is why they do littereally nothing to punish scammers.

Luckily I havent been scammed myself yet. And I understand the view that its my responsibility to check the trade window every time. But it still is incredibly annoying and Ive had people attempt to scam me several times.

And I know that if you report someone for scamming then the only reply you get is that they will monitor the player incase they do something thats bannable.
This is the part I will never understand, how is trying to intentionally scam your playerbase not a bannable offense.....???

If I got scammed by some low life moron, then the response I get from GGG is just that its fine hes allowed to scam me because I made a mistake, I would quit.
Trade npc's that you must find spawns of in the game or find a token that is not tradeable that invites them to your HO for a limited time or number of trades. Fully 100 anonymous trading with the item slightly modified and or the price being slightly different and also slifhtly controlled i.e. no listing a white item for 200 divine. Bonus is it can be tuned to be a currency sink.
I'm getting whisper spammed by bots. Having a separate website that links to whispers in game is just asking for crap like this
They should automatically monitor what people are doing in trade, make the terms and conditions of play clear to not price-fix, and ban everyone who has engaged in price-fixing, and every account they have traded large amounts of currency to for nothing (or things that are clearly not worth that amount).

I know people who do nothing but list things cheaper then buy them out and resell higher. They then use this large influx in currency to buy out more rare items and set the prices ridiculously high.

Even though I know these people personally, I would not be sad if they were banned for it. It's a scum tactic, and it makes trading and the economy feel very stupid.
