Demon Form causing disconnection
Demon form was working completely fine up until near the end of act 2.
Now every time I use it, its causing me to disconnect. When I reconnect I'm in demon form, then when I revert into the normal form, it disconnects again. Any help is welcomed Last bumped on Jan 4, 2025, 7:27:29 PM

I am also having this issue.
I have tried: taking out support gems like Vitality updated graphics driver which seemed to fix it but only for that following session. verifying local files I have seen someone else in the forums suggest restricting the variety of minion types down to 1 minion type to get it to work, so I will experiment with that an let you know if it works. I have also seen suggestions to delete the shader files so they can be redownloaded. Before I take that route I want to make sure I have the correct folder to delete. Really annoying though, just got the points to unlock it and it has yet to work for me without crashing my game. |

I tried to limit minions down to 1 type and discovered it will also crash whenever I remove the Rattling Sceptre or the Wand I'm using from my character as well. Something about the number of minions or perhaps Skeleton Warriors specifically might be the cause of the problem. Are you also using a Sceptre w/ Skeleton Warriors?
I was able to remove minion variety to only summon Skeletal Storm Mages but it still crashes when using Demon Form. I also tried switching Renderer from Directx12 to Vulkan with same crash occurring. Last edited by DrPwnacious#4134 on Dec 19, 2024, 5:13:19 PM

I think I found a possible correlation between the bug and skeleton arsonists. If i have skeleton arsonists asigned to weapon set 2, but not 1, and swap to demon form, it crashes me. it doesnt crash me if i have skeleton brutes or warriors.

I am not currently using Skeleton Arsonists, I was using Storm Mages, Skeletal Clerics and Reavers primarily.
I am now also crashing to login whenever I try to unequip my Helmet, only one ring the other is fine, my Wand or my Sceptre. My ring I can't unequip w/o crashing has + 4 to all Attributes and + 12 to Intelligence + 13 Evasion Rating. The helmet has + 1 to minion levels, 19% Armor & Energy Shield, +30 Accuracy Rating, +50 Maximum Life, 2.8 Life Regen per second, and 10% Light Radius. Wand is Unique Enezun's Charge - 99% Spell Damage, 50% Crit hit for Spells, 12 mana per enemy killed, 25% Chance to not consume corpse. Sceptre is lvl 12 skeletal warriors - 13% increased spirit, 18 max. mana, allies in presence has 198 Accuracy Rating, +2 to level of minion skills. I was having the same issue. The problem seems to be coming from the equipments with +(x) to minion skill level.

I think I figured out my specific problem. I have a ring that is giving me +4 all attributes and that is helping me make the Strength requirement for the Sceptre I am running.
The Sceptre has a + 2 to level of Minion skills buff. I was able to consistently trigger a crash when unequipping and then reequipping the ring or using Demon Form. Demon Form would crash to login, where character select shows me in Demon Form. Logging back in would be in Demon Form, crash when reverting to normal. If I unequip the Ring and the Sceptre, it is allowing me to use Demon Form without crashing. One of the inconsistencies I have found with it being all + X to level of minion skills gear is that my helmet has + 1 to minion and I can leave that equipped and transform without crashing. |
