Fireball + Wildshards does way less damage post-patch

All it said in the patch notes was that wildshards will be fired in a circle instead of spiral (not sure what that even means as they already fired in a circle) but now I no longer get a damage boost when procing Wildshards against bosses. My Unleash, Scattershot, and +% chance for extra projectiles no longer seems to affect the Wildshards burst. So now it's just as if I'm using Fireball with Wildshards and nothing else socketed.

I have been doing some testing with Fireball and multiple projectiles, and it appears that much(or maybe all, as I dont know how to know if there was a crit hit) of the time the damage from the extra projectiles is ignored. When using Fireball with no support gems, a singe fireball just under half kills the zombies I am shooting, sometimes half killing them. If I proc three fireballs, it still just under half kills the zombie. If I put on scattershot support gem, the three fireballs do a little over 1/3rd of the zombie's health. if 5 fireballs shoot out, the zombie still takes a little over a third its health in damage.
