PoE2 is Not What We Were Promised

Unfinished game

Which part of "early access" do you not understand?

Seems to me you are having issues with simple reading comprehension there buddy.

Game is incomplete , more systems and stuff is yet to be added,we dont even have all abilities, weapons or ascendancies unlocked . Why are we forced to cap our resistances in early release of the game?

Especially with non existant actual crafting , we are forced to purchase gear on poe2 trade site in order to progress game. That should NOT be happening in EA and especially not this early into EA

It is definitely newbie friendly, you can literally improvise a build and reach endgame without guides or anything, while also being able to quickly respec and try stuff.

In PoE1 you had to find a guide and follow it 1:1 just to play reasonaby, with a huge amount of farming needed to test different stuff and make changes.

In fact, the only thing they kept from PoE1 is the mandatory trading to get items for endgame builds and that's the one thing, imho, that they need to address.

Then obviously there is the "action" challenge in the game itself.
Some people like it and some people don't.
It's completely different from PoE1 and that's ok, people that like PoE1 better can still play it.

Reaching endgame and doing actual endgame is 2 different things.

You cant just make build and do t17 maps. You actually cant just make any build and do even t10.

T15 is the highest waystone atm so you're kinda telling on yourself a bit.

That said, I've progressed much faster in PoE2 than I ever did in PoE1, game's not been out for very long and I'm already doing T15 with a self-made build that's quite literally using a bow with 16-31 phys damage on it.

The game mechanics make a lot more sense in PoE2 and how to build against or play against certain problems is much more pragmatic. Just because it's newbie friendly though, doesn't mean people can just get away with not reading shit. The amount of people who still think slams can be evaded passively without Acrobatics even is a huge tell for that.

That is the perfect time for it to be happening, it gives them time to work it out. PoE2 was clearly rushed and should have had another 6 months minimum before EA, but it has a lot more content than a lot of other EA I played. I don't know why people expect them to have it worked out in version 0.1.0 , thats a long time until 1.0. Its like people do not know what EA means.

Yeah ... hate to break it to you but that is literally what EARLY ACCESS means

This is not newbie friendly nor casual friendly.

This was made for PoE1 tryhard sweats.

They tried to copy Last Epoch ''mapping system'' with one life , but in LE they have whole different system and that's why 1 life is acceptable.

Unfinished game , without all the abilities ingame , weapons , classes and ascendancies , we are forced to max out resistances already at level 40+ ...in game in which crafting materials do NOT drop as promised.

We were scammed into purchasing one product and they gave us something totally different.

PoE 1 players are among the most complaining and crying ones, people new to poe 2 actually enjoy the game more.

The challenge albeit a small one is what makes game fun.
i cant believe im about to say this, i am usually on the other side.
... so just know you deserve it.

PoE2 is exactly what I was promised: effectively the closed beta of a game that's still in development, that was trying to recapture the heart of 1.x eta PoE while incorporating a lot of what they'd learned in the decade-plus since. The results are still a little rough, hence Early Access, but they're definitely solid. If you're approaching the game by engaging with what it is, instead of trying to forcing to be something else, it's great, and I'm loving it.

And yes, I've also played Last Epoch. It's a good game; if you prefer it, I'm not going to say that you're crazy to prefer it. But I think I prefer PoE2, and I think there are enough people who do that it's success will continue.

That said, the amount of toxic gate-keeping that I'm seeing in these threads is a little discouraging. It's exactly the sort of "git gud" bullshit which has discouraged me from playing any of FromSoft's games -- it's not the games looked awful, it's just that their player communities were so unwelcoming to newcomers. Come on, PoE community. Surely we can do better than this.
Living the Hollow Palm life, and loving it. Stay sane, exiles!
