Trial of Sekhma and Chaos Trials are ruining Endgame

I've been playing PoE for more than 10 years. During this time I endured many shenanigans of GGG in regard to game mechanics. But this is the first time I feel like I want to quit playing.

The Trials of Sehkma and Chaos Trials were not fun in PoE 1. Almost noone played it or enjoyed it. Now we are forced to "endure" it, if we want to have a viable endgame build.

My main gripe is, that the honor system is way too punishing in later levels (where you need to survive multiple runs after another). Specially in regard to visual clarity and the dodge mechanic. My build requires me to cast firewall and other spells all over the arena, while my minions run around and have their own visual effects. In the end, there is basically no visual clarity as to which projectile belongs to the boss and which one are mine. I also can't see any visual notification for incoming attacks on the ground anymore.

The same applies to the chaos trials. Those are just more random RNG in regards to survivability. I can have an "easy" run if I am lucky enough to get the less punishing modifiers. Or I can end up with modifiers that clutter the arena with even more effects - which I CANNOT SEE BECAUSE OF ALL THE SKILL EFFECTS.

I am most of the time just running blind and praying to RNG-Jesus to not get hit by anything I cannot see.

This is neither an engaging mechanic, nor is it fun in any way.

If all endgame builds are gated behind those two "takeshi's castle" suicide runs, then I probably will stop playing PoE all together. I cannot imagine having to do this for every character I want to level up - over and over again.

PS: Having to farm for the tokens to even be allowed to try a run is also a very discouraging mechanic. It feels like GGG is actively trying to not respect my time as a player and wants to see me suffer.

I agree with the titel of this post.
Yep +1.

Made me quit for the time being, just can't be bothered to play when we HAVE to do things like this that is objectively hated by 90% of the player base.

Sanctum sucks, stop forcing us to do it!
This is my first post/reply on this site. I'm also new to the game, but I've played hard games before, like the Souls games. I’ve enjoyed the challenge and difficulty of those games. However, this part of the game, especially the Trial of Sekhma, feels too punishing and not fun at all.

If the developers want us to endure the game’s difficulty, they should let us learn the boss mechanics, not punish us for making a mistake. The honor system is really flawed and poorly designed. I’m almost 100 hours into the game. I’ve enjoyed it so much, but these trials make me want to quit.
Agree.

Why did GGG think this was a good idea? Sometimes I swear they don't listen to us..

Children, just because YOU don't like something doesn't mean no one does.

Sanctum had decent player retention, people didn't hate it (perhaps you are confusing it for Kalandra). Sanctum is heavily run since it's return to POE1.

Ultimatum was also a decent retention league. It was asked to return by a decent chunk of the player base (personally I'm not a huge fan of it).

You don't like it, and that's fine. I don't like lab in POE1, but I do it at least once a character because I have to do it if I want to ascend.

Good thing practically the entire forum complaints about it.
