Loot filter, really?

AND when its released for PoE 2, you can load it using an API on the PoE website, not messing with files, a cloud synced loot filter.

I really need this part to become true, i play on geforce now, starting to do end game maps and shit is getting crazzyy xD.

I played Last Epoch and i agree that the game is less complex when it comes to crafting/building, BUT that's no excuse for not building something close to the filter they have there. Sure, it is probably a big work, but come on, they can do it if they want to. And is undeniably QoL.

yeah i also use gfn and had to do a whole workaround to get it to work from filters from others same with poe1 before i knew it could be done i had to play 1 without one for ages till i found out you can apply a loot filter to your ggg account then you apply it on any pc or cloud game service you want but this feature is not currently in yet i hope for it soon as maps are just unplayable

p.s i dont care about the stuff anyone may be thinking about the way i type i spent years in games with a chat word limit and i just cant be bothered to relearn it all
Don't like it, don't use it. Couldn't be simpler. To rage about a useful feature existing in a game is ludicrous.
to me it feels GGG put in the loot fiter out of spite, where those who want to use a filter need to fend for themself. getting a PhD in creating filters, or going through several hoops just to get one and get it to work.

like, why is there not anything in the game or loot filter menu that teaches me how to create a filter.

Why cant i edit the filter from within the client.

Why cant i just create a filter from within the game client.

if Last Epoch can make an ingame lootfilter that works great, why cant GGG.

guys, what a hell is that? Well, screenshot was made from russian game version so i`ll tell you that this is an ingame setting loot filter menu. WHAT A HELL???? i`ve almost made refund in steam when i saw this. Are you seriously, in 2025 wanted to make a game to play wich I need to go on on the forum, download some third-party file from some strange random person? A good enjoyable gaming experience suggests that I don't even know about the existence of the forum, i guess? but not suggests that i NEED to research forum INITIALLY before i can start a game, because loot filter is a required for the game?

what is this folder icon from the two thousandth years in my settings, why should I specify on my device to indicate the path to something somewhere after game installation...

REALLY, THIS IS SO TERRIBLE THAT I'M SURPRISED THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE FEEDBACKED ON THIS

please don't embarrass yourself. I, and any other player, dont want to look at this. What the problem was to make ingame interface to configure loot filter? Copypast it from undecember idk, it is here a few years already...

It's because no one will say it to the devs faces the way it needs to be said. The big shots who get to interview them or question them have to bite their tongues so they don't lose their spot next time. It's insane that they force this on you.. Having to buy stash tabs is one thing, but needed to download someone else's program or to go into a folder setting and work it out on your own? Insanity. "Ahhh its too costly, or it's too much on the system, we just can't do it" What????
A loot filter is not a program, nor is it complicated to get one. A loot filter is literally a .txt notepad file that someone wrote, then changed its file extension to ".filter". All you do is download someone's filter and put it in My Documents/My Games/Path of Exile

It's already as simple and easy as it can be, and you can even get an online filter that you can update yourself and edit on filterblade. Just do a bit of research on it. Literally googling "poe loot filter" is good enough. That folder icon in the settings is there as qol, to quickly open the folder path I mentioned above so you can paste a filter inside it.

NeverSink's filter is good enough for most average players, it has multiple strictnesses. And you can edit it as much as you want on filterblade.xyz

Even Last Epoch has UI for loot filter. Well Last Epoch has auction too. I hope GGG can do better than small indie developer.

EHG is not much smaller tho and backed by 10cent since like 2-3 years. Lead Judd mentioned around 100 people working on LE when 1.0 released. Now more likely 120-130 vs 150 of GGG.
So yeah. They are neither small or indie now but had some good ideas other games copied.

Oh wow, that SUCKS because there are MANY cool 3rd party addons for POE and they are doing it on PoE 2 as well that don't mess with the game so its safe to use, it just uses GGG API's and you can literately hover over items and it will tell you what its worth on the trade market etc. TONS of cool QoL addons. That's why I never got into cloud streaming, I love to MOD my games too much. I couldn't imagine playing Fallout or Skyrim without being able to mod it.
PoE2 is still very early, and nobody knows enough yet to be able to really filter loot effectively. That said, Neversink does have an early "barebones" PoE2 filter available: https://github.com/NeverSinkDev/NeverSink-PoE2litefilter

You'll need to unzip the "Litefilter.filter" file and drop it into your PoE2 game files folder:
For Windows: %userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 2
For Linux: steamapps/compatdata/2694490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2
(These instructions are also on the page linked.)

As we learn more about base types and such, you can update the filter yourself directly in the .filter file, or you wait for Neversink to post an updated PoE2 filter on www.filterblade.xyz. I don't think the scripting syntax for loot filters has changed much, so you can probably still refer to https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Guide:Item_filter_guide for guidance on editing your own loot filter.
Stay sane, exiles!
