XP Penalty on Death is detrimental to the game health. Tripple Punishment on Death is bad.

You've played enough path of exile 1 to know that isn't changing. It's core to the game play. We don't need a leveling system that includes just playing endlessly. Plenty of other games dont have xp penalty, try one of those

I think my main issue with the a specific death penalty is concerning bosses with an entry key.

I do completely understand they don't want the 6portal defense type. The issue is that you cannot really learn a boss you only gain entry to once in a while (you cant just buy entries in ssf)

I wouldn't mind the current system if there was a way to enter those fights for free/bought with some gold, without exp/rewards on finish nor a penalty on death.

That way you could actually practice the fight, if you die in the real fight then its just a skill issue, but not a lack of experience induced by the current mechanic

If you can go BACKWARDS it incentivize people to not try harder maps. Simple as that..


There is a reason no ARPG kept the loot drop on death from early Diablo.

I am a damage monkey because I feel like defenses are worthless compared to clearing the screen within a second - less stuff hitting you means less damage taken

So many threads about exp penalty over the years, in PoE 1 and now for this game. It's outdated. Just delete it, it's not fun. Nobody likes it.

That is literally not even what exp loss does to most of the playerbase though. It's just annoying. It completely disrespects your time and it will make more and more people quit when they get to endgame, which means less profits for the game. It has to change.

That is literally not even what exp loss does to most of the playerbase though. It's just annoying. It completely disrespects your time and it will make more and more people quit when they get to endgame, which means less profits for the game. It has to change.

Worked fine for the past decade, if it doesnt work for the next decade im sure they will change it and thats a big IF. I doubt they mind the vocal minority quitting.
