Please do not listen to any of the posts on the front page of reddit right now.

I could go into depth, but there's no nuance here. I disagree with literally everything posted there over this weekend.

Global chat (IE the people actually playing the game) shares the opinion that reddit is filled with morons. No one who isn't a man-child who keeps dying because they're bad goes there anymore - and I say this as someone who used reddit and that subreddit for a decade since the POE 1 open beta.

If I wanted runes to not be permanent so I could not make meaningful choices on my gear, I'd go play POE1 or D4.

If I wanted to automatically not need to strategize before opening a breach or ritual I'd go play POE1.

If I wanted all 8 of my ascendancy points to be easily available so the gg endgame build I theory crafted can be playable tomorrow, I'd go play POE1.

The feedback that shows up there is ridiculous - by people addicted to dopamine who see no value in delaying instant gratification. Even if everything changed to remove all challenges in their way, they absolutely would still complain. And probably get bored and leave without having the intelligence to understand why.

Please do not cave to them. That's all.

Yup sadly it's always the same....a loud minority floods the forums with "mimimi, game is to hard bcs I can't 1-hit everything 1 hour into a new game/new league".

Devs nerf content so hard that even an ape who hit his head against the keyboard can beat 100% of the game.

The same people: "mimimi, there's nothing to do and no endgame challange...game bad".

I play ARPG for almost 30 years now and I've seen this situation in almost all of them and many other games from other genres....Hope GGG doesen't listen to this part of the playerbase, they've already destroyed so many initialy great games with theyr complaints.

Please Jonathan, stick to your vision....we true gamer & fans love it. :)

Everyone has the right to post an opinion and give feedback. You are also free to do this - in fact, you are encouraged to. You can give feedback to tell GGG what you like about the game. But posts that are titled 'listen to me not someone else'...I will use the word 'childish' here so the mods don't get angry :)

Player numbers and mtx purchases will decide the outcome.

Saying don't listen to them may not be the best take, but I get what you mean. You like these more deliberate aspects of PoE2, which represent a different set of values than PoE1. You want those values to continue to exist in this game even if they clash with what defined PoE1. You're frustrated because these players insist on changing this game even though PoE1 still exists, but what you want isn't common in the market & this game seems close to it.

I also like these values from PoE2 and want them to keep these values even if there need to be changes to the game to help make their execution better. The market usually doesn't go our way, so I'm also hoping this time is different.

Both sides are frustrated because everyone knows that, long term, only one of these 2 games will survive or be given enough attention. So yeah, everyone is fighting for the game they like and everyone's opinion is relevant. It's hard to respect your opinion when it starts with 'don't listen to all these idiots' (the last part is implied, but yeah)

Please do listen to them, because those are the most loyal players from whom GGG generate most of their profits in PoE 1.

But we'll just have to wait and see, steam numbers will say it all in a few months. Nobody will want to buy mtx even in PoE 1 if they know half of the money is going into a game they hate.
