Got to endgame and went right back to campaign.
I'm loving PoE 2, and the slower more methodical gameplay. The difficulty. The boss fights. The characters. The one thing I'm not loving is the endgame. I had so much fun over the last week, I made 4 different characters I took through Act 1 before deciding on the one to take to endgame. When I finally got to endgame, I almost immediately quit playing and started over.
Endgame feels exactly like PoE 1. It's too fast. The bosses seem almost non-existent. There's too much clutter and effects on screen. I'm just not feeling it like I was at the beginning of the game. I started over with a new character and was immediately loving it again. I have over 1500 hours in PoE1 and this feels almost the same, with better graphics. Where as in the campaign, the game felt better than PoE 1 in almost every way possible. I know there's going to be a lot of fine tuning, but I hope more of those aspects from Acts 1 - 3 return in endgame. Last bumped on Dec 16, 2024, 4:51:34 PM

I didn't reach the endgame yet but it sounds sad that it gets faster and more cluttered :/ I hope they make the end game more similar to the feel of the campaign - but this is just from your and some other posts, I'm not there yet to say for myself.

Wait until you get near t10s It doesn't take long to realize we have poe 1 archnem. monsters with their bullshit speed, immunities, after death effects, over laps etc etc etc but here in poe 2 we have slow characters with skill animation that takes too long to belt out and recover from. The campaign felt great but the second you touch a breach or ritual and if you're not one of the 3 known bullshit meta skills you're 100% dead. And miss me with 'git gud' im doing an arch stormweaver non mom non archmage and im in t10s without a lot of struggle but its far from smooth and 3 other toons in their 30-40s testing skills out through the campaign

Endgame is very largely copy-pasted stuff from PoE1 with bare minimum balancing.
No wonder it feels like it doesn't fit - because it doesn't. |

i hope theres a new endgame when the game is released because from the outside looking in, maps look kinda cool, but after watching streamers play maps it looks boring and easy, or like you said too hard because of lame stuff.
ive had a lot more fun just playing the game i havent even gotten to maps i dont even want to just doesnt look appealing to me to sit in the end of the game looking for items killing mobs when i could start a new character and just play through the game again Maps would be cooler if there was more of an objective to party with people and get better rewards or something |

End game mapping in PoE2 is just the same as PoE1.
The only difference is your character is slow as molasses in a blizzard and the enemies are coked up fiends with direct IV injections of meth and mtn dew. It's crazy. It's nothing like the campaign at all. ~ Seph

My plan for EA is finishing campaign with all characters.
My main warrior is 83 and I am kinda burned out on it. I'm not chasing pinnacle bosses, because my setup can't deal good single target DPS unless I can stun the boss. Playing monk 60 level and it is a breeze with the power of trading. Act bosses couldn't attack me so far, 1 second to freeze, 2 second to stun, 3 second to kill. This is how a melee character should feel like. Warrior felt so sluggish. |

I agree, u can definitely feel that the endgame was "rushed" to somewhat fit it into the game. They had 5 years to test and balance the campaign to feel the way they wanted and then they slapped in an endgame within 6 months.
I really hope they take their time and start to develop an endgame that is worthy of PoE2 and not just the 1shot grindfest we have right now. We're kinda back to either one-shot the screen or get one-shot. That's especially true for 3 of the 4 league mechanics, which I'm still baffled that they used those in the new game. |

I have the same feeling. For me it started to fall apart like in the middle/ending of Act 3. Act 1 and 2 were amazing in terms of combat I had to pay attention to what I was doing, thinking were I was standing, and making sure I had an escape plan.
During act 3 it felt like the combat was unraveling itself more and more. It was starting to feel more mindless. During Cruel campaign my death count was starting to rack up as well. Not because it was hard, but I wasn't paying attention anymore. 90% of the monsters were deleted within a second, until some weird rare mob deleted me in turn within a second. It kind of feels like POE 2 has an identity crisis it wants to do something different with the combat but it turns right back into POE1. Last edited by Zabanov#1474 on Dec 16, 2024, 4:52:32 PM
