Utzaal difficulty too high.
I just reached Utzaal in Act 3 and the white mobs there just seem to be dealing a hell of a lot more unavoidable damage when compared to prior zones.
This is fine for smaller packs, when I still get around on freezing them, but pair chaotic zealots with gelid zealots and legionaires, and there's no way of surviving: Not even resistance stackings works, as you'd be needing to gear heavy on three different kinds of avoidance, which is not reasonable for act 3. Kiting isn't much of an option for a melee character either. Last bumped on Dec 16, 2024, 1:41:27 PM

Get life on gear, 50-100% increased armour on the tree, and get 40-50% elemental resistances and its fine. The monsters ramp up for sure, but it's fine and 100% doable easily.
If you are monk with es/evasion, same thing but get 50-100% increased es/evasion and equip the ghost dance meta skill. Last edited by Kashou#2868 on Dec 16, 2024, 10:25:01 AM

" The solution shouldn't be farm for several hours when the difficulty curve has been totally fine beforehand. Utzaal clearly is an outlier and that should be fixed. |

Yes it might need some tuning, but not much. Learning how to gear up properly is part of the game.

" I know that gearing is important, that's what I've done for all the bosses and zones so far. But there's a difference between acquiring some nice gear and being able to progress, and what would be required to smoothly progress through utzaal. |

If Skill Issues were a competition, you'd finally be winning something!

Its an end act zone. Mobs in them tend to be pretty rough compared to the rest of the act. Base defences like armour, evade or es work nice here.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

Hardest part of the entire campaign for me was the Black Chamber, Act 3 Cruel. Bosses NBD, but my god the one shots, ground effects and tight corridors were a nightmare to play through.
