My assesment afterr lvl 67 ,, problems and suggestions , need to make the game fun for ppl to play
Game is very unbalanced in leveling, exp, loot , trading, and respecing the build.
I have leveled a 67 monk , 34 warrior, 19 mercenary and 11 witch, i liked the monk the best so I continued with that. the 34 warrior, couldnt even damage the end of act boss, I expected most of this as hey they didn't test it fully thats what we are doing, right? Major issue, is mob repop on death, no way i need to re do some of the huge zones if i die and have to go back and kill all the mobs over again just to get where i was. I am sure many remember the boat, what a PIA run that is. Some of the zones are huge and dying over and over = long time trying to get thru, checkpoints dont help, not enuf of them and if you miss something you will need to go back and look for it, which means you have to kill the same mobs over and over . Leveling should be getting to know your class, test spells, weapons, so dying over and over at level 10 to bunches of mobs is poor judgement on how to level, it should be fun to figure out what to change, but you cant, you can try to up the gear , but nothing drops if level appropriate, gear is poor, and at the early levels you can buy a few items to push thru, but at higher levels, nothing is in reach, at 67 i probably looted or sold stuff to total < 20 exalted, bought some gear, but at 67 , ppl selling junk at 5 exalted up to 300 for good stuff, who has that at level 67?, Rescpecting the passives, i only did a cpl at early levels, but i wanted to try something different and did 10 points at lvl 67, it cost 255000 gold, I had 500K so half of what I earned. repecting should be FREE, no one knows the game (not even the developers) as you can see it is totally untested, you cant progress in blue gear, and need decent yellows and skill to move along. I looked at my other characters last night and wanted to see if any warranted a second go , and the problem was needed more gems for diff spells and needed to respect, which made no sense at the cost of what it is, Mob density is out of control, and placement, thru the whole campaign is poor, go down a corridor and get ambushed with 20 mobs and an elite with range effects and totally overwhelmed, and you die, and guess what, you have to start over because of the repop, repops should not be happening once you cleared an area. poor loot for time spent, i mentioned its bad, but to go the uttzaal i believe for the three mushrooms and you have to clear most of the zone, and when you turn it in all you get is life and mana flask? Terrible for the time sink required to clear that zone, but generally loot is terrible, Dodge roll,, terrible idea with mob density and small corridors, wiggle paths where it is easy to get surrounded and stuck and of course and cant cast to get out of trouble so you die. just to do it all over again. Monk and warrior mechanics dont work if surrounded. If your making dodge roll a key part of the game, then you need to make it as passable to roll thru mobs because these small channels are just terrible to navigate thru. Life and mana flasks being only 1 , is poor thought, you just had a big fight and life flask is out, so you have to port back to town and hit the well to refill, why so radical to limit the flask to 1, unless it was a ok lets screw them over , and going to town should refill automatically, added mechanic that serves no purpose except to aggravate the player. No hideout until you do maps? lol trading to other ppl now becomes real tedious. End of act 1 you should get a default hideout so ppl can trade. Others you can earn during maps. One and done death on maps is poorly thought out, why not just make the game hard core only. There are a ton of other items most ppl have covered, but the bottom line is it is supposed to be fun and it is not. Leveling should be an opportunity to try to manage a build and try stuff out, The passive tree is huge with no idea how to proceed so it will take a lot of trial and error, respeccing costs negates that. The ascendency trials are a joke, I played poe for years, heck last league i leveld prob 8 characters, I never bother with ultimatums, loot is poor until the higher levels and is a time sink and if you die exp loss. So now I am forced to do ultimatums to progress? Bottom line is some one had a vision of how heard they can make this game for ppl to go thru, instead of making it Fun but still challenging to progress, You want ppl to make 3-4 characters or builds and to play the game, get invested in it but no, someone took on the task to see how much they can mess with player base. This game needs a lot of attention and changes as many ppl have already mentioned, I didn't cover everything I came across, but just a few of the top ones, Last bumped on Dec 16, 2024, 10:50:28 AM

He has range and mellee and the bell is a good tool if it ever gets fixed to place it closer, i went lightning, only thing i upgraded was the crackling staff ,
made gear upgrades at 30 ish and 60 ish, I still died a lot, so with the respawns, and mob density as it is, i wont be playing much more, no hideout, have to travel back to trade with someone, and if i want to try and respec as I mentioned before,, it costs a fortune. |
