Killed by a fountain in Sanctum trial

I had ~700 honour and just hit a fountain which was supposed to "greatly restore my honour" while giving me a random minor boon. It gave me "Shattered Shield" and somehow instantly killed me. No mobs around me. Just killed by the fountain 1 room before the final boss. Why??

Samething happened to me. I was at a fountain that retores honor and gave a minor afflication. Got Forgotten Traditions and instantly died.
