EXP loss on death is a bad mechanic
Its was bad in poe1 and its bad here too. If I loose a few hours of progress every time I die from something off screen or entirely unavoidable im probably just going to stop playing.
You should just remove it plain and simple. You died that's the punishment. We don't need another one. Last bumped on Dec 15, 2024, 10:03:41 PM

Let’s just go ahead and implement a press 1 button to reach the ending screen while we’re at it. It’s not in the interest of the majority of gamers to have a super easy bland gaming experience. Check your resistances, watch your feet, look up at the screen and not down at your characters buttons might help.

" Well i hope you lose 10+ hours of exp when you die in higher tier maps from on death effects which you could not see in time. There is lrdy a punishment from dying in maps you lose stuff you juiced the waystone with. |

" this kind of argument is a complete fallacy. its kind of hard to take you seriously when you cant even formulate a basic argument to support your point of view. heck, don't even support your own pov if you don't want to, but this dumb strawman nonsense just makes you look bad. OP the problem is GGG has never played another game besides PoE, if they had, they'd know in Elden Ring for example, how a game can be challenging yet rewarding, but all GGG understands is how to punish the ever living daylights out of players.
Ruthless 2.0, sorry I mean PoE2, is exactly what they intended for it to be. |

You are one hundred percent correct. I see no reason why you need a death penalty for players when the people who want one can simply opt-in to Hardcore.

The entire campaign is exp penalty free, if you are losing exp dying, its because you have reached end game and its supposed to get harder to level and harder to progress. There shouldn't be free hand outs. Just because you reached a period in which you have a harder time progressing doesn't mean GGG should reduce the difficulty just to cater to you.
Players that are unable to navigate how to survive and watch out for mechanics should focus on figuring that out instead of coming to these forums and asking for a reduction of difficulty, which ruins the game. It makes it bland and boring. There is always POE1, you can stand in every mechanic and press 1 button there. |

" What are you saying? No way they ever played PoE or PoE2, they must have mental damage to launch the game otherwise since the first question you should ask yourself as a game designer/director is "is this fun for the player?". |
