Trial of the Sekhamas FAILED

I have been disliking Lab in PoE for as many years as I have been playing it. The PoE 2 equivalent is my worst nightmare. A Warrior with over 70% Armor, 2.7k health, Over leveled by at least 5 levels doesn't seem to matter at all. Terrible assortment of mobs, Flame flinging Undead with arrows flying and beetles that blow up with worms popping out of the ground. Every single one of my attacks on Warrior causes me to take Honor damage because of attack speed. This feels bad in every sense of the word. This is NOT FUN! Sanctum is something I hated in Poe 1, happy to see it go but at least in PoE 1 I just don't go there aka skip the league. In PoE 2 its required? Please GGG remove this from the game. I don't see any way to balance this for Melee.

Give us a Boon that turns off Honor? Honor is a terrible mechanic. I gear my Warrior so he can take a hit and this game mode ruins all of the effort I put in and tells me to give up entirely and go play Poe 1 or reroll a witch or a deadeye. Melee is just bad in sanctum. But you HAVE to engage with it if you want your endgame power. Honestly Im putting him on a shelf. Had a lot of fun but without my last 4 points, seemingly out of the question, I am just sad, annoyed and frustrated.

It is my hearts true desire that you just remove this altogether. Its not fun. It really is frustrating and makes me not want to play this game at all. So Ill reroll for now and focus on other things. RIP my Warrior that is super fun to play outside of These Trials. I hope you guys figure it out because this leaves such a bad taste. If my IRL friends were not playing and relying on me for help and advice Id leave for a few months.

The Ultimatum makes a little more sense but lets be honest. I as a PoE die hard fan love it but not because of the Ultimatum. We loved the Circle with loot and a choice to keep going or leave with the loot. This whole replacement for lab feels like you chose the most unfun parts of those mechanics and made it the only part.

I love you all and Want nothing but the best for all of GGG. I know you guys will get this right eventually but right now this is the worst aspect of Path Of Exile 2. Good luck and God Bless.

I actually have been generally enjoying the game so far, but the trial has been by far my least favorite experience in path so far. I think I'd rather deal with Maven's memory game than this.

The trials are just dumb and ridiculously frustrating. I want to make a monk and test out all the awesome skills and play styles. But then I dread the thought of doing the trials and wasting hours on a stupid mechanic that obviously hasn't been tested properly.

Please GGG, remove the RNG mods from the trial.

im playing monk and the first 2 trails were super easy.
Same all over the subreddit, too.

Like apparently many others, I find Sanctum and Ultimatum are the worst mechanics and not fun, while also being the most limiting for build-diversity. I only played them to get PoE1 challenges when relevant, which was then done for the league, and I never had to engage with them again.

Now I'm required to do them for every character? Sanctum is a different kind of game. Ultimatum is arbitrarily punishing and gimmicky. I thought I was getting the best new ARPG, and it appears otherwise I did, except for this critical part of character progression. It doesn't belong, and was extremely upsetting to encounter when everything else so far has been so much fun. How confusing and ridiculous it must feel for people entirely new to PoE. I eventually managed the first two rounds, then closed the game after failed attempts at the third. I can't imagine ever doing the fourth like this.

The last few times I logged into PoE1 was to say goodbye, having completed the strongest build I've ever built, after clocking 9300 hours over 10 years, and intending on PoE2 to become my new main game. Everything I love PoE1 for is here. And it's all new, with a fresh start, the entire player base participating in the discovery together again. I was so excited. On launch weekend I felt the sense of newness and wonder no other game provides. The PoE part of PoE2 is amazing and feels awesome and I have so many ideas and plans for builds.

But this ascension thing. This one thing. I don't know if I can. Maybe if I was a one-build-per-league kind of player, but I'm very much not. I can't stomach this agony on every reroll. I don't even want Sanctum or Ultimatum as optional (but probably required somehow anyway) side content. I can lose loot and bosses from dying in maps all day and still have fun coming back for more. But not this. I hate this. I hate this heart-sinking, gut-wrenching, deep sadness I'm feeling that I might leave PoE entirely over a single component of an otherwise phenomenal experience.

Please. You've made huge sweeping changes before and taken giant risks. Early access is the perfect opportunity to show that again. I'm sure the dev investment would make some in the team feel as sad to have it gone as I feel having it push me away. But we want to play PoE2 in order to progress in PoE2, not be sent to a different game that we don't like or want to play. Everything is fun except this. Please remove these awful mechanics. There are so many past leagues to choose from that have appropriate ARPG gameplay. Please do something else.

The first 2 were....the last 2 nope. But you have to understand build choices and types matter, so it's not easy for everyone.

This mechanic was clearly made with "PoE 1" game design in mind. It just doesn't work with melee characters, it's poorly designed with those in mind. Either the way you lose honor must be redesigned, or losing honor must give you a different kind of penalty. Maybe make characters gain honor upon hitting enemies if they're very, very close in melee range.
+1 this thread.

I like the most part of PoE2, but these trials are pure cancer. Forcing every character to go through 3-room sanctum with unbalanced bosses (huge aoe, huge honour damage) is game breaker. Like here's your juicy stake but it served in dog's shit sauce, bon appetit!
