Jamanra Difficulty Gap?
|
Even with level 36, all of my gear updated, and LOTS of cold and poison damage abilities (his weaknesses)... I still cant get this guy to below half health without dying and burning through all my healing pots!
I know you can always ask for some OP helper but WHYYYYYY is the gap so large on this boss?!?!? Like, the entire game had challenges and a good pace, but now I just try this boss a couple times a day, get annoyed, and switch to Throne and Liberty. It would be nice if there was some equalizing especiallyyyyyyy when you consider that some characters are weaker than others when it comes to DPS (looking at those weak AF minions!!!! Basically useless when you consider agro!) Probably going to take a break till we get some updates. Last edited by Viseus#8094 on Dec 15, 2024, 3:59:37 PM Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 7:33:12 PM

" +1 I have just died to this boss about 10 times today. Yesterday it was 12 times. The problem IMHO is that Act2 limits you to Level 8 Skill gems and with that the amount of power/damage you can inflict. So unless you managed to grind out a decent set of gear and also grind levels to be dramatically over-levelled, you're stuck. |

" I actually managed to get past Jamanra last night. What it took was to grind out more levels: 2 more going 34 to 36 in the Dreadnought AND (more crucially) obtaining some key gear elements. 1. Lesser Jewellers Orb: Added one support socket to my main damage gem: Gas Arrow added a Cold Infusion. 2. Gemcutter prism: That plus another added 10% quality to Gas Arrow. 3. Lucky roll on a Health flask gave me 0.2 gained per sec. 4. Found / Bought a lot of runed gear and hammered them giving me enough to get a rune socket installed on my main bow. 5. Dropped a Glacial Rune. Which gave me 6-10 cold damage on top of already 6-10 cold on the bow. And then the passives I added more attack speed like 9% more. ALL that gave me a lot of cold damage and I just managed to squeak through on like my third attempt. Yea the Jamanra fight is way way over-tuned IMHO. Literally killed him on a monk with only chaos damage nodes, and the few extra damage when you've crit in the last 8 second nodes, with basic attack the other day. He's really extremely easy.

Is he that bad? I had a lot more trouble with the act 1 boss personally.

Jamanra is fine difficulty wise- but the real problem is he is bugged and the fight won't comeplete, he gets stuck in a phase transition it seems.

" Not only, you are also gear limited. No matter how long you play, it's clearly designed so that you cap on DPS and armor/resist. So this boss will be hard, no matter what you do. My second attempt, in cruel, with better gear was a way fairer fight. I see what GGG is trying to do, but they either need to balance this boss, especially for melee, or remove the gear cap. |
|
" No he's not. And I think that objectively true for melee. If he felt easy for you then you might have been real lucky and dropped a gear that provided you enough DPS to kill him before he kills you. literally. An if you doubt that, I invite you to start a new run and see for yourself how he is without luck. |

Mobs in ARPGs should NOT have resistances or immunities to one particular build in the first place. Diablo 2 did that over 20 years ago and they removed it. What is this design?

Yes - needs a nerf!!! I have hit a brick wall with this boss on my Warrior. I've tried to eek out more DPS but unless I get a really lucky drop I can't see a significant change unless I can keep leveling by grinding the Dreadnaught map before him and increase DPS through passives.
I can only get him to maybe 70% health before I run out of health potions and have tried him at least 5 times. Lower his health pool and reduce his attack damage. |
