SSF: Difficulty is far too punishing with no player counterplay

I have spent 41 hours in the game and hit a huge roadblock that is gatekeeping me from progressing and experiencing the endgame (Last 3 hours were on the Act 4 final boss).

The character I chose to play was a lightning stormweaver. I have chosen to build around lightning warp for damage with unleash and multishot on ball lightning for warp targets.

The problem I have is that I am getting two shot, sometimes three shot, by the boss and I have no way of fixing that. I already have invested fully into ES (my only real option when playing Sorc) and have tried increasing my cold resists but that did not help. Aside from this investment, I see no other ways to improve my survivability in any way. I am not able to invest into health on the tree, there are no defensive skills that would help against this boss that I'm not already using, and I am too low of level to invest into mind over matter due to the recovery loss, and recoup will not help due to how fast the boss attacks and slows/freezes.

The only way to complete this boss, is to dodge every attack and not get hit/slowed and frozen. There is no counterplay, I can't build my character in a way that would allow me to beat it in an alternate fashion, either dodge or don't play the rest of the game.

It does not help that the devs spend their time post release nerfing player builds (cast on shock) instead of fixing the real problems.

This is not the first road block I experienced, this is just the one that has forced me to uninstall. I would have loved to experience and provide feedback on the rest of the game and endgame, oh well.

Also when Righteous Fire?

This is exactly why the current game will struggle having good player retention when all the hype dies down and people see it for free on steam later on next year. If it doesn't get delayed that is. It really feels like some parts of the game are designed to make people want to quit and uninstall on purpose and its really weird.

OP - this is your answer.

It is kind of unfortunate that this is currently the best/easiest answer to difficulty. But it is.

Trade an exulted orb for an OP yellow weapon and you'll be steamrolling again in no time. I'd recommend going for +skill level of whatever your primary damage skills are.

Its not a game problem, even with tuning PoE makes you hit roadblocks when you dont have gear/build/resists

Trade in this case is not the answer. SSF = Solo self found it's in the title.
Beyond_Bow_BobMKIII Level 80 Tornado Shot Scion
Im in maps and I didnt even know trade was a thing until some friends told me about it.

SSF is totally viable though. Not sure whats going on with the OP

DOH
Im too zonked and american to read sorry.

But ya, you are playing a league modifier that is suppose to be hard. I'll probably play SSF later, and I sure as hell don't want to it be any easier than it already is since the whole point is being a challenging experience compared to trade league.
