Chayula ascendant - Monk

Well... yet again me with Chayula feedback.

TL;DR - choose Invoker, ignore Chayula

Chayula's Gift - overall nice one, but doesn't feel like impactful at all, many purple mechs are actually a mix of phys and chaos (deducted it from testing with chaos max res and without it)... even tho im chaos capped, they will bomb my ass to oblivion - all on death poison bombers, purple flowers etc

Ravenous Doubts, Consuming Questions - not possible to play with staff, because leech is only phys based and we are not doing enough phys DMG to actually leech anything, if the node would offer ELE/all DMG leeched as life might be worth a shot

Reality Rending - RNG node that actually you need to take, because there is nothing else, some DMG boost scaling with attack speed more and more. Still I think % to proc is just too low to consider it good, while other ascendancies have just flat 10% or more all the time.

Waking Dream, Lucid Dreaming - underwhelming... game is already hard enough and focusing on gathering flames is most of the time just resulting in death and not worth the deal, because you can just kill rare/boss in this time.

Embrace the Darkness, Grasp of the Void, Inner Silence - for me it could just not exist, nodes feel really bad, there is no good reward for sacrifing spirit and many buffs that makes your life easier.

Hit T11 maps atm... I can obliterate everything with the build (rares, bosses, ascendancies), but none of this power comes from ascendancy, what is actually sad.

Invoker offers really nice defensive and offensive buffs... Chayula feels like playing without ascendancy.

Agreed. If anything the only benefit for me was I didn’t have to play a female character.

Do quarterstaves even roll with chaos dmg to benefit from the chaos nodes?

Doesnt matter if it rolls chaos or nah, because its from your global DMG.

On top of that... Many people thought Chayula will benefit from Breach Rings (always counts as in breach), meanwhile Breach Rings bonus was removed in PoE2... RIP
Check out my idea mate!

Yup, hardly any useful nodes. Not only that, with the current meta like double herald, grim feast, combat frenzy, we’re forced to get +spirit on body armor or our amulet when we can be getting more resistances or evasion/energy shield. It really sucks. And I’ve done an experiment between my Chonk and Invoker, I swapped over all my gear from my chayula to invoker, and the invoker was able to get 290 spirit which allows me to get cast on crit through my unset ring. And it clears pinnacle bosses way easier and clear maps quicker as well compared to my chonk. My chonk literally doesn’t benefit from what the ascendancy has to offer, it’s all gear based which is very sad.
Yup, it is pretty bad.

The mana leech stuff is bad, especially with it completely killing the natural shield regen, and seems like it is meant to work with the flames, but not part of that branch. Garbage nodes.

The resist one I do think is good. Probably the best one in the entire ascendancy, between raising the cap and doubling the benefit of resist gear.

The random damage one you don't even really notice.

Flames are bad, with purple ones not lasting long enough, hard to stack enough, while red is typically useless, because evasion and ES. The shield healing the mana leech nodes have? The red flames need to be capable of that, base, without penalty. Then there is the blue, which is somewhat useful, but you can't really design your build around chasing down random blue flames for your mana, so ultimately, also not very viable.

And that leaves the Darkness stuff. Losing out on spirit and the buffs that go with that make the cost considerably higher than just 6 points. The darkness is also on top of your shield, so you lose it just like that, which means the damage bonus goes with it as well. Now, if the darkness was layered between ES and your health, rather than on top of ES (ES takes damage first, then darkness, then your health), then the entire thing would probably be worth 2 points, but still not the full 6. As is, only worth spec'ing into for a Trial of Sekhamas run.
