Blink with WASD
Please allow us to bind it to a key so that we can target blink wherever we want. Otherwise it's almost unusable on WASD, because with only 8 movement directions long distance and instant blink feels absolutely terrible. This isn't a problem with dodge roll because it's not instant and its direction can be adjusted in the middle of the roll. This isn't the case with blink and more often than not it just gets stuck on some obstacle because you can't be precise enough with only 8 directions.

Oh god YES! Seconded.
I have died a few times now trying to figure out how to use it without going back to klick to move or purchasing a controller. Blink just feels very bad on WASD without infinite directional control with how detailed and complicated the map geometry is. |

" There is a temporary workaround - if you stop then blink/dodge roll become mouse targeted, so releasing WASD for a moment and pressing dodge roll button will do a directional blink, although it's very inconvenient. Last edited by DemonikPath#1311 on Dec 16, 2024, 10:09:20 AM

Blink needs a re-code. I suspect it is currently coded as a dodge roll with modified parameters: (longer distance, instantaneous, no animation, cooldown).
The skill needs to be rebuilt to function as a cursor-targeted spell. It does NOT play well with WASD. As part of the overhaul I also suggest the following: - Cooldown should not start if the cast is interrupted. - Cooldown should not start if there is a close range terrain collision and the spell 'flubs' (no real distance traveled). I don't know the ramifications of changing the pathfinding behavior, such as allowing it to be cast on any occupiable location even without line of sight. Nor do I know the implications for mitigating exploits such as warping into terrain or unintended locations. But if possible this should also be implemented. |
