Trial of Chaos 'challenges' imbalanced

Gathering soul core challenge is IMMENSELY more challenging than the other 'types' of encounters you can get. I have yet to complete it as a monk. The escort mission is a breeze.

Every time I do the soul core gathering one I get absolutely swamped with mobs and am usually off screened or killed instantly from being stuck in place.
