Paid for EA on Steam. In game defaulted to use Sony sub-account. Now can't use currency points.

Purchased Poe 2 EA pack on steam and have only ever played on steam. During initial character creation it defaulted to Sony sub-account. Now I have all my time and multiple characters invested on that sub-account but can't access the shop currency or my stash tabs because they're on the steam one. Is there any way to get my progress and characters moved over to the actual steam sub-account? I really do not want to have to remake every character and reinvest that time again. Also if I bought the game on steam and only ever logged in through steam, why does the game default to the wrong linked sub-account with no indication in the initial character creation screen?
