Trial of Sekhema last boss
|
Got my 4th ascendancy with my Stormweaver. I really thought I had good dps until I met this boss. It took me 3 minutes to kill this boss not to mention you'll want to dodge all his attacks within those 3 minutes since he does quite a good damage on your honour even at very high honour resistance.
I did the trial at level 81, Spark archmage and I don't consider myself a casual but not sweaty enough to try hard that much. I'm surprise people haven't complain about this boss to be honest or my dps is just not that good. Just to be clear, I'm not complaining but just worried that only few people will clear this boss. Take note that I had, Sanguine Vial (Monsters have 30% less hp), Ornate dagger (+50% damage) and monster damage +30%. Last bumped on Dec 29, 2024, 9:24:53 PM

It's over-tuned. Also not at all melee friendly with his mechanics and attacks. Titan here, not a fun fight with slow as attacks it took a while to pop him only to find out that the portal was bugged and couldn't ascend.
The trialmaster one is also bugged from what I've seen on youtube. Mats used but can't enter the boss fight. |

" Heard that it wasn't fix yet for chaos trial and opted for Sekhema. I kinda understand about the frustration. The funny thing is, everything was not on the scale of the last boss, like everything is kinda easy and then the game slams the last boss onto you. Not sure if GGG's intent was to make ascending hard but just imagine those build that needs all of their ascendancy points. Last edited by iMirageX#4580 on Dec 13, 2024, 2:11:31 AM

I 100% agree, when your character power is being gatekept by uber level of challenge, it ain't a fun design.
I understand the philosophy behind grinding gears (pun intended) to build your character up but ascendancy shouldn't be that rough. |

" 3 minutes boss is average for Warriors. So nothing exceptional there. |
|
" The 3 minutes is not the problem here, have you done the last boss of trial of Sekhema? If you have, can you tell me if those people who are playing this game casually will ever beat? That's why, I was asking if GGG intended for ascending to be hard because I'm pretty sure that those people who don't want to do POE 1 pinnacle content and/or haven't done them, will have a significant chance that they will fail and get frustrated. If GGG intends ascending to be hard, ignore this feedback. FYI, it wasn't hard for me, I was just surprised since boss 1-2 and 3 barely took 20 seconds. |

" I actually did. And I consider myself a casual player. Though I'm casual, I'm a veteran in video games and arpg in general. Didn't take me long to understand what GGG was trying to do... I didn't even think about getting there at suggested level. I went there (in both trials) with 10 levels minimum above suggested and with solid gear. And I made it through first time for the trials of Sekhema and on my second try for trials of Chaos. What I think is the real issue is that the suggested level is not the one casual players should consider. These are suggested levels for hardcore players that complete the 6 acts campaign is less than a day. GGG should maybe reconsider who is there 80% of players and explain things better for them. That being said, I'm not saying that the trials are perfect. For starter, they should clearly indicate that for the second ascendency in the trials of Chaos there are 3 rooms + 1 boss. I was desperate after the third room, knowing that there where 7 left.... And to my surprise, after the forth, I received a "Trial complete". Anyways, my inital remark was towards the 3 minutes mark for bosses. And the underlying complaint is that there are balance issues in early game as warriors will experience longer fight with bosses (so more dangerous as they will have to survive longer. And we know how survivability is in POE2...). I've watched unexperienced players deleting the Perenial King with bombs, arrows, minions, name it. They didn't even had to experience the 2 beams portals + 3 tornados + 2 electric barriers + line of electric balls while the boss is prepping a sword smash on your head.... all, at the same time. I'm not asking that they nerf other classes, but for god sake, give warriors a mean to either deal way more damage (risk/reward base) or clearly more suvivability in early game. I know that there are 1% of warriors players out there that managed to get a build that still delete these bosses early on, but they are, obviously a minority and not casual gamers. Anyways.... I digress. All I wanted to point out is that the 3 minutes combat for a boss being an issue, if it is, is already an issue for warriors even outside of the trials of Sekhema. |

" If you consider yourself casual and finished the last boss then that is really good. I agree with all the points you have with what I quoted. Probably its my misplaced worry since this topic and other topic about game being to hard is going to be too subjective since/and POE 2 put an indirect emphasis that a build will dictates how good your experience will be in POE 2. monster hp - 30% does not apply to boss - read carefully boss and monster tags are separate in poe

Damn 3 min is quite good. I two shot every other boss on the way there and then wailed on him for 10 mins just to get him half hp. It just feels like shit, started with 5.9k honor and had 5.8 at the last boss but died cause I touched the clock.
