Crafting is Broken by the Numbers . It's Harder to get good boots than a 6 link in POE1!

The crafting system in POE 1 was brilliant. In POE 2 it is frankly badly broken.To understand why this is true, lets consider the goal of getting a pair of Evasion boots boots with both movement speed and evasion bonus.

TLDR:

I have approximately 2 times worse odds of getting these boots as I do rolling a 6 link in POE 1. And in reality FAR worse than that because I get once chance per item.

Details:

Any one Drop of a Boss may be one of:
Gold
30 different armor items (5 from 6 type)
X number of ring types (lets estimate 10)
X number of belts (again lets go with 10)
X number of weapon types in X number of bases. Lets estimate 20.
Note that this does not include a targeted highest tier for each type.

So now to get my Evasion boots I have a 1 in 1 + 30 + 10 + 10 + 20 chance and that is OPTIMISTIC because we arent considering tier. A 1 in 71 chance. Now once i get the drop I apply a transmute and lets assume 50 differrent mods could roll on the boots (again ignoring tiering of the mods). This means I have a 1 in 7` * 50 or 1 in 3500 chance of any one drop plus transmute rolling. This is already worse odds than rolling a 6 link in POE 1. I get one more shot at it with an augment so now I have a 2 in 3500 chance to get movement speed. Now this JUST to pop movement speed. If I want movement speed AND evasion I have the same odds as rolling movement speed except I may not get another attempt. For both events to ocvcur I have a 1/3500 * 1/3500 or a 1 in 12m chance to get both on any single drop from a mob. This is BEFORE I apply a regal and HOPEFULLY get a decent mod and not +10 to melee damage when I am a caster.

The POE 1 equivalent would be to keep spamming chaos orbs on an item to hope to randomly hit all the affixes you need which would be nuts. Actually even that would be a better outcome because the item can be rerolled.

No idea how this can be considered as anything but broken.

Solution:

Deterministic modifiers. Move speed rune, In fact a rune for any possible modifier that can be put on the boots. More rune slots for higher level gear, bring back alteration orbs for low levels (no I am not going to hope to hit the right affix on a regal if it already has 2 mediocre ones on the magic level). Its already bad enough to be a 1 in 50 * 1 in 50 chance to get both with an alt orb. this is just impossible.

EDIT: Dear GGG, I really dont know why you would remove a system perfected over a dozen years for this. You dont want a bench? Fine, do more runes but the rest of the system was brilliant.

Just one little correction. I just played my POE ruthless char for a couple of hours. Crafting way easier and better. LOL

Sorry GGG but MOST of your playerbase arent Ruthless players. Us ruthless people are oddball massochists. If you want to have a mode for us, cool. But this mode is WORSE than POE 1 ruthless.

Well the thread is about crafting it. But the drop chance to get exactly what you want is roughly the same as the crafting chance.
