Skill gem bricked after upgrade

I upgraded Hammer of the Gods from lvl 13 -> 14, while it was still equipped. The skill gem is now broken. The expanded info panel shows "The information is currently unavailable", and it can't be added to the hotbar. Unequipping and re-equipping the gem doesn't fix it. Neither does relogging.

A new version of the same skill gem works fine. It's only the upgraded one that is broken.

This has happened to me as well. My Arc gem broke in the same way when I unequipped and then re-equipped it.

I can equip the gem, but I get the same error message in its stats page, and the ability itself does not show up in the slottable skills list

I just had the same exact issue happen to me upgrading my voltaic grenade to lvl 15, used the in-game bug report and got Bug Report ID: #4142340520. It's worth noting the issue happened earlier today around 2-3pm EST I was just hoping leaving for a bit and coming back after restarting would have a better outcome.





And sadly cannot use the skill in the action bar, it's just missing completely. Making a new gem at lvl 14 does work, it's just the upgraded one that's bricked for now. I'll keep it in my stash to check on after some updates.

Interesting development, this may not actually be a bug after doing some experimenting it just looks really odd. I noticed I only had the issue with my second weapon, it looks like it's just a little short of the strength requirement as the gem gets greyed out if I have just the crossbow I was using for grenades equipped in the main slot. My main projectile crossbow has +20 strength letting it work no problem, that helps explain a lot.

It'd be great to see something making this more obvious but that looks like what's going on for me.

Had a similar issue, bricked a gem while messing around with it in the gem tab. Can craft another copy that works fine, but the original is unusable (can socket, but wont show up in the action bar).
