Fix this, Character with that name already exists.

Can you change the the way you keep track of names and reference it from my User id. Diablo 4 lets reuse names on the same account. No reason I should spend 20 minutes going through a list of names and find out each character name I choose already exists.

Sadly, what most PoE players relegate themselves to is to use some kind of prefix/suffix, like [preferred name]_Btv or something like that.

Why not use a naming system like Diablo 4? I've gone through 30 names and they're all taken. We can't even use spaces in the names to make 2 word names. Sorry if I don't want to play a character named shjafhsajg.

Some people will be making 12 characters minimum once the full version is out. Many people will make multiples of same classes.

I'm told the game is amazing, but that means nothing if I can't get into the game. This has to get fixed soon.

I can't upvote this enough. CAN I come up with a name? Sure if use full names with underscores and foreign words. But would I rather just name my character without having to worry about it? A thousand times yes.

I have literally had 2 friends I tried to get into POE refuse to play because of this outdated system. I have watched streams where the streamer has wasted 15 minutes just trying to come up with a name for their character. And the sad thing is this is only going to get worse the more players there are.

It is insane to me that they keep with it despite nothing but negative feedback for it to the point where people are walking away from an otherwise great game because of it.

More Name Options - Having to settle for something you could find really sucks. How about adding the ability at lease use certain special characters such as dashes, apostrophes, etc.

I want a refund. I've spent 2 hours trying to come up with a name and the only one that stuck was "Fhdrnfmm42847fh".

It's not hard to code a combined string for each character based on their username plus their character name.

I didn't purchase this game to spend more than 2 hours trying to come up with a name in 2024.
