Respec should've been free for the first month of EA. And after level 70 (or when you start to receive an XP penalty for death) after the first month

CoC / mjolnir etc were very fun builds remember bois no fun allowed in poe2

What I don't understand is why they nerfed this so hard. its more than a nerf actually. They could have reduced the damage, put a CD on it, or some other creative micro nerf, instead they straight up deleted the entire concept of the build and any use for those gems from the game.

Commenting just to agree. If I could respec for free or at least a reasonable amount of gold then I'd have no problem experimenting with something else, but as it stands I'm now too weak to even farm up the gold to respec in any reasonable amount of time.

*EDIT: after logging in today, I am noticing that the Cast-on mechanic is totally useless now. By the time it builds and procs, everything is already dead. What's the point? Just reduce the damage or increase the cooldown...

PLEASE give us a one-time reprieve after major updates! It could be offered as a Rax (hooded guy) respec, or a respec token (consumable etc). That should not destroy the game in it's current state, or jeopardize future respec mechanics after release (ie complaints about it costing gold etc).

I just hit level 50 last night on my main (sorc). I invested around $20-25k gold just to SLIGHTLY respec from leveling into CoF/Comet. I side a little with you here, GGG. The build was destined for a nerf. BUT, why not decrease damage % vs destroying the trigger mechanism entirely? It is unplayable now, unless you are rich enough to invest into a multi-Cast on mechanic (which will probably get nerfed too). I do not have the resources to craft/test gear for each character I play (I plan to play them all). Nor do I have the resources to respec after every major update.

Additionally, My understanding of Early Access is: we all paid money to "play-test" PoE2 in an effort to make this the best game ever upon release. I absolutely LOVE the game, I am logging in EVERY day! I am slightly less motivated to play today though, after these major changes (due to resource cost and time spent playing). But, I will carry on to the end game because I want to see what that's all about.

i see people saying "ooh dont make respec free" as if it will break the economy or something, like bro who cares about the economy of EA game and so say that it will just let people spec into some op streamer build.. i mean let them? games suppose to be fun if thats what they wanna do but for me i v ery much like theopry crafting builds and id love to beable to fully build swap on a dime to test different playstyles

That's what gets me to. I'm not really affected by this one, but the absolute brutal way it was nerfed does not bode well for future balance passes.

Next patch is what?

"Deadeye is a bit strong with Stormcaller Arrow so it's brought into line (new attack damage range 3 - 9)"

I'm in the same boat. I'll just quit for now, as I have no money to respec, and I have to drop 20 levels to kill anything, so no XP. I need a free respec token when this happens.
