Is POE2 a loot piñata game now?

In red maps (T11+) I have to use several portals every map to bring out loot.
That's quite far from Ruthless I'd say.

I am playing it, and I feel the latest patch did overshoot the rewards in the context of POE2. This is where I stand, this is my opinion. I am NOT trolling.



How is it not trolling calling the current drop rate piñata-like when even them say they're VERY careful about adjusting drop rate?

are you getting loot O_o, i have not found a div, i have 2 shitty uniques i cant use and im still wearing a ring and amulet i found at lvl 12, i am currently near the end of a3 and in total ive found 8 exalted and 4 regals

Still zero loot in the game about loot.
There are not any minuses to give players as much loot as they want lol.
And the worst idea was to cut the loot in order to detain players in the not fun game.

1. This is a fun game.
2. It's not a game of JUST loot. If you lower it to that standard, might as well play path of build + an auto-battler.
Other than currency items what good is the loot it's dropping? You break down blues for mats to turn a white into a blue and you break down yellows for the ability to turn a blue into a yellow but as far as I'm aware there's no reliable way to even get the blue -> 2 affix blue mat let alone exalted orbs, the "crafting" system is basically just selling items to the merchant until he gives you a god tier blue you can upgrade to a yellow or a yellow without a trash stat and spend your 1-2 exalted on. It wouldn't be as bad if I actually got something useful with the yellow drops but for some reason it's seen fit to keep giving my merc int gear that's piling up in my bank tab for when I finally rage hard enough and roll a sorcerer/witch/monk, best part being that I'm level 40 and the yellows that are dropping for int classes require level 15-16...because that makes sense.

On a side note the crit percent on weapons makes no sense to me, as far as I've seen every weapon that doesn't have a crit chance mod on it has a base crit chance of 5%, there's a bit of difference in attack speed and for the crossbows reload speed but it's confusing that a huge hammer has the same crit chance as a single crossbow bolt out of the 50+ I'm rapid firing.

2. It's not a game of JUST loot. If you lower it to that standard, might as well play path of build + an auto-battler.


Strange that you don't understand that this is the game only about loot.
And the all aspects just a mechanisms how you could obtain those loot, not more.

It's still an action rpg and not a souls like. Loot is the most important part of the game. That doesn't mean it can't be challenging. But it also needs to be rewarding. Early Access exists to balance that.

I'm sorry, but it's not only about loot. Maybe that's how you choose to approach it and more power to you. If you fail to appreciate all the skills, mechanics, combat, bosses, roleplaying aspects of the game, and so much more then it's a YOU choice.
