Eldritch Battery + Arctic Armour

What do you think, how well does Eldritch Battery combine with Arctic Armour?
Would this actually give you a good, permanent defense?

I am also wondering if Eldritch Battery increases your absolute mana regen, because you regenerate 105% of your maximum mana per minute. (http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Mana#Mana_Regeneration) Does anyone know?
Eldritch battery is good with AA, yes, it increases your regen, because it increases your maximum mana.

With 2.6k max mana currently I can afford to permanently run level 15 arctic armor.

My eventual goal is to run level 20 arctic armor permanently. Assuming level 20 clarity, inner force, and 3k mana, that will require 212% increased mana regeneration. I currently have 100% from passive points, and 54% from:

So basically I need ~200 more energy shield, and another item like the above, and I'll be running level 20 arctic armor permanently.

Woah, that's wicked sick. AA drains 241.2 Mana/s (with Inner Force) while moving. Do you really regenerate this much?

Does the damage reduction feel significant?
Well like I said, at the moment I can only run level 15 arctic armor, that's 186.1 mana/sec. Yes I regenerate that much, I just leave it up all the time.

Yes, the damage reduction is very significant. Paired with 85% fire resist I'm immune to most fire attacks, including:
titty monsters
voidbearers
skeleton fire mages
undying incinerators

I'm not immune to cinder elementals, it doesn't seem to do anything to reduce the burning ground effect they make.

It also helps a lot on reflect maps, mitigating basically all of my reflected fire damage (which is a little less than half my damage as elemental cleave).

The physical damage reduction is also pretty nice. Damage reductions in this game are additive, so it synergizes very well with armor and endurance charges. With 5 endurance charges and a granite flask active I am basically immune to most smaller physical hits, such as being swarmed by monkeys. Even without the granite it makes such things hurt a lot less.

Should try cloak of flames combined with that. I know i know it has no hp and shitty es base but then again it transfers 20% of physical damage to fire damage which combined with your fire resists is extra 15% physical damage reduction combine that with arctic armor and endu charges i bet you could achieve high damage reduction and high survivability compared to what any chest piece could offer i might be wrong but that 20% physical conversion into fire damage is one huge boost.
I'm not sure if the conversion is before or after physical mitigation. I suppose even if it is before, it would be close to a straight up 20% damage reduction.

Still, there's no life on cloak of flame, and as you say, the energy shield is low. The fire conversion would probably more than make up for the loss of armor from my chest, but the loss of ES and life? Probably not:
