Report of the game crashing when loading in win11 24H2 system.
I found that when running POE2, once the map is loaded (the gear turning screen), there is a high probability that the game will freeze, and the PC will freeze and have to be restarted.
After my inquiry, I initially thought that POE2 is not compatible with the latest 24H2 system version. In 23H2 or even earlier operating systems, this problem does not exist. The current temporary solution is to quickly find the POE process through Task Manager-Details-after POE2 starts, right-click, and set dependencies. Then shut down the two CPU core resources so that the computer will not freeze. However, POE2 games will still freeze and become unresponsive, but at least the PC no longer needs to be restarted. I hope GGG can quickly fix this problem, which has seriously affected the game experience. Last bumped on Dec 15, 2024, 2:22:38 AM

I see this as well on a Ryzen 7700 system (24H2). Game works fine for the most part but occasionally on zoning, all CPU cores will spike to 100% and the system becomes completely unusable. Can't alt-tab, can't ctrl-alt-del to get to task manager, nothing. As OP mentioned, setting affinity to exclude 2 cores at least allows the client to be killed off and restarted when this happens. What also appears to work is to turn off multi-threading before zoning then turn it back on so you're not playing a slide show.
