Controller Feedback (PC)

Having played this type of games with click-to-move for decades, I tried the controller out for a few hours with the following skills and, in my opinion, it works really well: Unearth, Contagion, curses and offerings.
Targeting minions, enemies and corpses is spot on and the combat feels very smooth.

What I didn't like, which made me stop using a controller, is the UI interactions. Managing the support gems, the passive tree and the stash (the inventory itself, the NPC menu interactions worked fin though) all felt very tedious. I think the issue for me is that in these types of interfaces, it takes a lot longer to get the information I want.

I'm not sure how this type of UIs can be improved for controllers, but a work-around would be to allow for mouse interactions while those UIs are open and still allowing for controller to be used for combat when they are closed.

I hope this issue can be resolved as I really enjoyed playing with a controller and would like to switch to it again. Other than that: GAME GOOD #CanRecommend.
No gain, no pain.

Although I haven't tried controller on PC yet... Diablo 4 allows for both based on auto input detect switching. playing with controller is great but when in need of navigating menus etc. the mouse is perfect. A solution like this, as you suggest, would be great.
Issues looting, aiming certain abilities where you want rather than towards a enemy, and the UI being largely disabled for cursor interactions are my only issues with controller.

Otherwise plays really smooth.
Okay so I just tried it. Works well and auto detecting the mouse works fine, HOWEVER... the mouse does not work in the menus fully. Like moving things in the inventory. I hope this is an easy fix. :) Close to perfection on PC.

Interesting. Do you remember which skills/abilities you had issue with?

Exactly that. It partially works. For example, when looking at the slotted skills/gems, I can hover the cursor over the main skill and get the gem information pop-up, but not for the support gems, and can't interact with any of them.

Being able to use the mouse for managing gems, inventory, stash etc. would help a lot.
No gain, no pain.
It would be nice to switch between input modes automatically, without having to logout first.

Please forgive me for saying this...

This is one feature that D4 does better.

Not only D4, but every other ARPG and MMO out there. The "must log out to change" only exists in PoE and it is an unfathomably bad design.
Even if it didn't switch modes, just being able to click with the mouse to pick up gems and items within the UI would be great. That's my only gripe as someone that prefers controller for playing since it's honestly healthier, but mouse for UI since it is the best by far.

+1 to the suggestions here.

There's an option to enable you to manually aim a skill with the right stick. I haven't tried it but it's possible.
