Campaign secondary objectives are difficult to check on
Hello! I reached endgame and I struggled with the secondary objectives in my two playthroughs! The UI could be noticeably improved IMO.
Right now, if I am correct (I'm not even sure), the objectives have 3 states. - Has to be done (Saturated) - Notification that it is complete (Blinking) - Complete (Desaturated) First problem, first and last state are very similar visually. It should be readable in an instant, and right now I have to look at them and guess if one is bit more desaturated than the other. The first state should be way more visible, as they are barely visible on the map right now AND the complete should have an indicator that it is complete. A checkmark, a cross over it, whatever. During my first few acts, I asked myself several times "Wait, I thought I did that. Did I? I'm not sure anymore, why is it still there?!". The second issue came from the second state. I guess it makes sense with a mouse, as you would quickly hover it and see that the blinking stops, but on a controller, I was freaking out. Checking them is much more tedious AND because the tooltip would appear on top of them when you switch to the next one, the blinking stopping is not really noticeable. I freaked out a few times wondering why was it blinking, thinking I was progressing on that task, when I already had completed it. With the first point addressed, I'm not sure this would be useful. If you guys want to keep something similar, maybe playing a simple animation of the icon getting cross out would work wonders. Maybe there should be some kind of "link" visually between the objective and the map it is on. Right now we have clusters, which makes it difficult to understand immediately what can be done where. As of now, we can see the name of the zone in the tooltip, but again, that is tedious to check with a controller. It should be understandable from the get go. A simple line connecting the objective to the map would work very well. Finally, maybe an option to display them in the quest log? The back and forth between the map and the game to check if I was making progress was tedious again. Instead of guessing and hoping I have done everything, I would love to see stuff getting cleaned out of my tracked quest log. They would be displayed only when in the zone they are in, to not clutter anything. Hopefully this reaches you guys, I love the game and want it to be as good as it can be! I feel the UX could be improved, so here it is! Last bumped on Dec 11, 2024, 2:05:20 AM
