*RELEASE* average-exp-gain calculator
|
So, I've started this project mainly because I was tired of guessing how efficient I really level.
Constantly asking myself "city of sarn, maps, bosses or docks?", "attack-speed or damage?" The UI ![]() How it works It monitors a selected region of your screen. After the initial setup it has the image-histogram (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_histogram) of your min and max exp and constantly calculates the histogram of the current image, thus being able to calculate the difference to the min-histogram (giving you the "current percent") -> do that over a set amount of time and viola, you got the percent per amount of time. The positives - it does not access memory thus being immune to internal poe changes - since it does not mess with the game itself it's (hopefully) legal to use - as long as you have some kind of exp-bar which is like the one in poe (kind of static colors and a consistent change as you gain exp) it will probably work on anything. The negatives - still unfinished, so bugs are possible (see below under "possible issues") - needs initial setup - can, in some cases, bug-out - takes a sturdy system to run (if you are already struggling running poe as it is, don't even bother trying my tool) INITIAL SETUP 1) start the tool 2) create a new character in poe 3) "start select region" -> drag the red rectange so that your exp-bar is covered (care to only have the UI in the region) 4) start capturing 5) kill stuff until you are lvl 2 6) stop capturing 7) save your config anywhere -> drawback: most of the time in the early levels you will not exactly hit <1%, so the recognized "current" will be a bit off, but you can just repeat 6) and 7) when you are running the tool on your big guy, or leave it as it is, since it probably does not interfere with the average-calculations. Just let me know if something is unclear. possible issues - full-screen, works on my machine, but it's possible to cause problems (i.e. minimizing the game when the UI is selected, thus messing with the capturing) - possible performance issues DOWNLOAD "Some dude just tries to spread his virus" (yea, I'm at least just as paranoid... which is most of the time not a bad thing) Virustotal: Repository (please don't steal my stuff without asking): Block it in your firewall if you are still suspicious. Download Link: I included a .bat within the zip file, if you don't trust this one, just open it with notepad, it really does only run the jar (in case you haven't linked your javaw.exe to .jar-files) If you are still unable to run the jar, please use google. Conclusion This project was a lot of fun, solving so many problems I just did not have till now. Even if nobody but myself uses it from now on, I would still consider it a success. You want to submit fixes or help with the project? Talk to me :) (The project currently has 0% test-coverage *bad me*, so that would be very much appreciated) This is only v0.1, if I get a good amount of feedback I'll be continuing to work on it. If not, oh well, then that's that. " In fact, I didn't. Thanks :) " I would be more than happy to let more people work on it, just message me, i'd like to get to know people beforehand :) Hope you like it Cheers :) Last edited by HansV2#1916 on May 1, 2013, 6:18:41 AM

looks cool.... but can someone with programing check out this files before I download this?
preferably someone from GGG.... I don't want to get keylogged. IGN: Turkey_turds, Lootsplosion_LvNINTHOUS, Who_Needs_pants_

I don't see anything suspicious in the source.
But, why would someone make a boolean wrapper? |
|
" Well, at the start of the project i had literally no idea what i was doing, just knew what i wanted. So it's one of those "naturally grown" projects. To come back to the boolean wrapper: originally it did more, but got changed later-on. (It's one of the many points i should probably refactor) |

feedback is appreciated

Will wait for more people to download/vouch if the files are clean before I download. Definitely something I could make use of though.

Hm, how do you set it up on a char that alrdy excist? ( not lvl 1 )
|
|
" If you skip the steps that require you to make a new char, the average calculation will probably still work, but your current exp obviously won't and it can bug-out sometime (I haven't tested this scenario) |

I've tested it and I really enjoyed it!
Now I know how long it takes for me for an average level, some minor-bugs but it's possible to live with. A little work on it and it's perfect, now i'd give it a 7/10 Thou shalt not guard. Last edited by Zonxen70#5320 on Apr 30, 2013, 9:10:59 AM

" a bit more clarification on what those "minor-bugs" are would be nice |
