What happened to mouse control + target lock?

After the patch today target lock no longer works with mouse control.

Before today you could target a mob and press an attack (e.g. Q) and if you kept the key held down the attack would be locked on the mob, you could then point the mouse in another direction and click to move (I have move on left mouse), and whenever you took your finger off the movement key you would attack in the direction of the mob even if you mouse is still pointing in the direction of movement.

This was a great alternative to WASD and meant you could move around and dodge stuff without having to flick the mouse back and forth between the target and your travel direction.

Today it seems that this no longer works.

Was target locking in mouse mode intended, and this is a regression?

Or was target locking in mouse mode unintended, and removed?

This is a real step backwards for mouse control if it is an intentional change, and pretty much forces WASD. I hope this is a bug and it can be reverted.

Thanks.

On further testing it seems that Target Locking is still working in WASD mode, so I suspect it not working in Mouse mode is indeed a regression.

This is probably related the patch fix that stated:
- Fixed a bug where "Move only" was name-locking

Target Locking seems to have been inadvertently affected as well.

Please could you look into it and hopefully revert, as it made Mouse mode much more enjoyable.

Thanks.
I started playing ranged characters these days and I do feel the need to target-lock as OP described it, didn't feel the issue as much before with my other melee monk.

Maybe lock the target (i.e. "T1") for the one skill held down (i.e. "Q") - not move action ofc. - while move and other skills follow the mouse normally. And maybe other skills (i.e. "R") can gain their own target-lock (i.e. on target "T2") until released, at which point the character can continue with the still held down first skill ("Q") against its first target ("T1")?

Yup some how the original arpg controls is worst the option right now. With Crossbow sometimes you're stuck in locked target and also locked reload animation.
