Spell ailments restrictions

With the change to ailment application and the loss of flat added spell damage ailments feel quite locked-in to their skills. Beyond running stormweaver the opportunity to play around with individual spells in that manner seems to be restricted to trying to stack 'gained as' modifiers (which on items is weapon only and caps at 30%) with the relevant ailment support and hoping the damage is enough. Conversion so far seems to be limited to giving up a ring slot and affecting 100% of damage for every skill. Maybe with enough raw damage it eventually starts to work?

With PoE2 now free from the more abusable parts of the conversion chaining we could do with some supports to play around with that area. Planning how you wanted to apply various things or pushing for strange and quirky options was a really fun part of building. Right now instead of PoE's build freedom to experiment it feels we're tied more strongly into pre-baked combos than before.
