Pain Offering with controller

This could possibly just be a skill issue but I find myself having a hard time hitting my minions with this skill. 9 out of 10 attempts I cast it, I end up expending the resource and putting the skill on cooldown(support gem penalty) but whiffing the skill entirely.

Not sure if the targeting can be improved or at they very least not trigger the skill unless it hits a valid target. Mind you the issue is really noticeable during high mobility battles as me or my minions move and I miss the skill several times before landing it or giving up on it.

I have experienced the same issue. Playing on controller on PC.
I suggest having the skill target nearest skeleton if no skeleton was targeted.
Posted this a day ago myself in the bug section. There's no way I can trigger the skills during combat. Tried both aiming and without aim. Out of combat it works fine.

aim-assist is the root cause.

Minimum, GGG needs to patch in an option to disable aim-assist. It’s breaking so many things.
I wish offerings would cast only if they were able to impale a skeleton. Feels pretty bad when you miss in the heat of combat and you have to wait 6s to cast it again.

Sure, it's probably a case of "git gud", but does it even make sense for a spell to expend mana when it does nothing?
I have the same issue. There is no possibility to use this skill...maybe after 10 tries. Hope GGG will fix it soon.

Even when it does hit, you can't really control what it hits so instead of impaling a meat-shield warrior I end up impaling my DPS arsonist instead. As a stretch goal it would be great QoL if you could set it to auto-target a specific minion type if you have one of those alive.
It just needs autocast on minions
