Trial of Sekhemas and honour

Hard stuck at the trial of sekhemas, the honour aspect of the trial is really unenjoyable and punishing for no reason.

Which part of the Trial are you stuck at??

Things that I needed to keep in mind are:

1. Get a pair of the fastest move speed boots [equipment] that you reasonably can. 15% is the floor I'd recommend but if [somehow] you can get more then that's great.

2. If your character has access to any movement skills [shield charge] I've found that helps sometimes.

3. The goal [usually] isn't to fight & kill monsters -- it's just whatever you need to do to run out of the exit door. Anything you're doing should be focused on that one goal.

4. Don't be afraid to go to the trade site to upgrade weapons or other gear. I tried 3 times .. once was a wipeout, once I got to the boss and almost beat them but ran out of honor ... I upgraded my weapon and made it through with 200 honor to spare.

5. There are different types of rooms.

Like an "hourglass room" will spawn monsters [mostly basic monsters]. You don't have to kill anything .. just run around and [if possible] drop a decooy [minion, totem, etc.] to take the monsters attention off of you.

Gauntlet rooms will have mostly spike & "fire pin-wheel" (?) traps but only a few monsters.
I don't know who thought this was a good idea, my character is slow and tanky on purpose. yet a tiny fireball takes a huge chunk of honor and doesn't budge my hp globe 1%... ok
chances of getting a beta key 0.000001 %

I'm a warrior and I'm definitely not agile so I understand what you're talking about.

I don't like "dodge or die" style mechanics but if you're having lots of fun in the rest of the game you can likely power through it.

You don't have to ascend "now" .. you can move on to Act 3 and try Ultimatum to ascend. At least I think that's allowed.

Similar here, idk, just felt like making a kinda tanky char, most passive points are in defensives. Was a slog already to get through many bosses, OK, I guess I asked for it.

But for Trial of Sekhemas, complete setup is now pointless. Just gotta run in circles and use ranged attacks, because can’t afford to lose the honour. The rooms that only require running to the end are fine, but the "Kill all Rares" levels are insane. I can see how this plays on a ranged and damage focused char - 20x faster. And actually beating the trial.

Guess I try this then? Surely Act 2 endboss will not be tuned to expect 2 ascension points.

[Edit]
Its quite tough to do but possible, but the rewards arent even worth it.

Hello GGG,

I would like to share with you that I find the honor system in "L'Épreuve des Sekhemas" to be terrible. It's not enjoyable. I just did a new attempt, and even with a lot of resistance to honor, the monsters at stage 3 tear apart your honor bar in one second.
In my opinion, this leads to more frustration than anything else. It's long to do and unpleasant.

Thanks.

I agree on the enjoyability part... it's just not there.

the trial of chaos can also be daunting. but at least there you are dependent on your own HP bar and not an arbitrary lifebar. (honor is essentially a lifebar in my prespective)

I'm just going to ask for help with my harder ascendencies... not fun content so I'm not gonna do it.

I do wounder what they intended with the key drops to the trials... did they mean for us to farm the trials for loot?

Sooooo... about that

1: Ok so we wait till end game to do something we're suppose to do halfway through act 2.

2: See 1, as this is generally an act 3 thing

3: Save for when you do have to fight, cause you have a damn chalice room

4: Again, see 1

5: There being different types doesn't mean you really get a choice, the game will funnel you to a chalice more often than not.

So to sum up the advice:

Wait till end game for something that you're suppose to do halfway through act 2.

Got it.
GGG, please, please change the Trial mechanic. I have spent two hours attempting to get through the Trial of Sekhemas. I've gone from level 22 to level 26 and I still die by stage 4. The really frustrating thing is, I don't take a lot of damage - my armor and energy shield work as they should, yet my honor bar still goes down? Why?? If these trials were based on "real" death, i.e. losing actual health, I would have finished it after two or three tries. Instead, I've done nothing else this evening and have nothing to show for it.

I didn't enjoy this "trial" mechanic when it was a season in PoE 1, and I'm sure not enjoying it now. I get that the community apparently wants PoE 2 to be as difficult as possible. But the trial mechanic is difficult in a way that makes no sense!
