Can't slot jewel in jewel socket

So I just got the witch hunter ascendency and I decided to mess around with the weapon set skills, i wasnt able to slot the jewel and i figured it was because both weapon sets had to reach the socket so i spent even more gold refunding skills and I still cant slot the jewel. I am down 22k gold i only got 3k left and i STILL cant slot the jewel in the socket pls help

Having the same issue, I can't put a jewel in an ALLOCATED socket. I am 100% sure that it's allocated because it's a straight line and I have the travel nodes on both sides of it. Very frustrating
