Don't reset the zone on death

All the other feedback aside. loot, difficulty, speed and whatnot are all things that will change with time and more knowledge.

My one and only gripe is just why does the zone reset on death, was that intentional? is this something fruitful in any situation? any zone can literally be reset on demand by holding shift and starting a new instance. So, what is the point?

Yes.

You only get 1 shot at maps now also.
It's more weight so you feel the consequences of not wanting to engage with the incredibly boring trash mobs.

It's a terrible choice but it is intentional.

The point is, your not strong enough. Do it again till your strong enough, or adjust your build to suit.
At the very least, dropped loot should not just disappear. Lost the loot of a boss today because I overlooked a still lingering effect of the boss after beating him.

And now you know to pay attention and look for lingering effects. Take a breath, pull ya britches up, go again.

Ok, and when I die because of a dot and don't have any more life flask then I should just suffer? Nope, that needs to go. The mechanic already seems to be there, as I only lost the gear loot, the skill gem that dropped was suddenly in my inventory.

Agreed

On my first go through I didn’t know about drowning orbs in Act III.

Went back with the knowledge after dying to it once and was fine after that.

Op you just need to learn from mistakes or try a different approach rather than ask a fundamental change to the game

I thought I went crazy earlier, I didn't notice the loot despawned on death until today. If it's intentional and there's no reclaim box to get the "important/valuable" loot that was on the floor, still, when you died; that's one terrible design decision.

Agreed. Maps are huge and having to kill all the mobs again between checkpoints sucks. And the loot disappears
