Minion Comfort - Fight and Navigation

In POE2 EA, Minion fight and navigation is uncomfortable.
Have progressed to T1 waypoints and levelled with Minions all the way.
Lv 66 Infernalist as of Writing.

There are multiple map layouts with narrow corridors e.g, Act 2 Caravan and Act 3 Temples. Such layouts are extremely uncomfortable to run with minions. They get stuck & their projectiles bounces off the arcs of doorways.

- Skeletal Arsonist Projectiles hitting door structures; Minion AI in those tight spaces and doorways cause attacks to ricochet off and causes substantial lost in damage. Am suspecting it is due to the Doorways in temples being Arches.

- Melee Minions body blocking each other; of 8 melee minions, only 2 are attacking while the others are blocked. Tried playing with Reaver/Brutes/Warrior and all 3 types experience similar discomforts.

- Offerings body block minions; evident in narrow coriddors

- Trial of Chaos; Minions get stuck and do not descend/ascend the elevator with player. In trials with immediate fights, this might lead to player deaths as minions get stuck.

In summary, layouts and body blocking disincentivise having a horde of minions. This clashes with my goals of making a build with a horde of minion & I feel actively punished for building an army.

NOTE: Summon Raging Spirits were fine because they do phase.

i second this post completely.

melee minions need to be able to push each other a bit to unstuck themselves.

what also is a bit of an annoyance: the minion/enemy targeting in general.
each unit picks an opponent and is hard locked to his dual partner.

about 30%-40% of enemys lock on the player, ignore everything else and the only solution is to run till your minions are off-screen and get force revived, which can take uncomfortably long.

convocation should be an innate ability if there is no way to break the aggro.
I posted about this as well, i think im gonna be switching as its far 2 clunky and annoying to deal with minions at this current time. They are fun when they work but often small designed corridors in a ton of maps leads to them just not functioning well.

This. So much this. The hellhound blocking everything in a small corridor is one thing, they will be resummoned when out of range, I can live with that for now.

But the aiming of the arsonists... I opened a map with non-stop small rooms and corridors. What a s*** show. They are just blasting the top of the door frame or trying to hit the enemy from an off-angle, effectively hitting the corner wall or some statue.
Can support it fully. I play summoners in every aRPG, it seems they are viable at least. But even some really bad product from different company made minions pathing etc better (still terrible)

65 lvl summoner.

I would just add that whole respawn mechanic is simple bad. They can´t keep up with players and that "respawn" after whole 5 sec leads to many deads and unpleasant experience.


Yes, minions do get stuck everywhere they can. I'll also add that sometimes the respawn time increases if you run away and wait for a forced respawn, because the minions don't all disappear at once and each one increases the cooldown. I think they should have a phase run. Or a convocation gem is needed.
Some additional information in the event a GGG Developer would to information to Reproduce the issue.

Offending Map layouts with server Minion navigation Discomfort.
- Lost Towers (stuck while navigating narrow corridors between rooms)
- Mire (stuck while navigating from platforms through narrow corridors)
- Augury (narrow corridor throughout entire Map Layout)

The 3 above are the most major offenders, however they are not the only offending layouts, there are multiple areas in other map types that causes minions to get stuck.

In addition, areas like Vaal Factory have layouts where minions are on a raised platform with the entrance a considerable distance away. Was able to safely cheese mechanics and have my minions safely dispatch enemies before running to collect drops.

Minion Layout. I do run a zoo, however I do notice issues when running at least 4 minions.
