Item drop rate is too high
I can't tell if the drop rates have been tweaked or something but I am level 11 with 5 pieces of rare gear now and it's just everywhere atm. The rarity from yesterday was good. It took some effort to get rares and I was still using magic items in act 3.
I can't tell if it has actually changed, but please don't make rares baseline items at level 10 again. Last bumped on Dec 13, 2024, 6:10:31 PM

Act three, level 41, got like 5 rare in the act, 4 unusable for my current character and 1 that's an actual downgrade of my level 26 armor ? Drop is actually terrible, and that's the absolute main issue of the game right now, I'll wait for the next patch, because I don't want to farm for 4 hours to do a full repec of something that use to somehow work just fine before nerf (explosion shot + poison grenade/armor stripping mechanic + high impact shot, took me 14 try and 6 minutes on the successful one to down the optional lizard boss in act three and took me the actual time it take me to go from act 1 to 4 in POE 1 to do a the aqueduct), because i'm seriously undergeared for the current content (found nothing better than my level 10 crossbow I got at act 1, even after slamming every currency I got on a new base I found.) |

Agree.
Drop rates were too low on launch day but now they're way too high. They needed to be increased but not by this much. I hope they lower them by like a third. The drop rate affects the overall difficulty of the game and I feel like it has become too easy now that you can overgear for the content and even tank 1-shots. The best feeling in the game is when you overcome a difficult challenge. Don't trivialize the content with these absurdly high drop rates. And for the people that want PoE1 drop rates, just go play PoE1. |

Nah they aren't too high. Stuff like 2-charm slot belts and medium jeweller orbs should be moved to cruel act 3 instead of dropping in maps for example.

100% my experience. Im glad to see someone else noticing same thing. Ppl saying I was trolling in my thread had me wondering. I seriously hope GGG was just aggressive because it was EA and they are not shy about nerfing it just as aggressively to get it right.
Honestly, imo, loot was fine, and maybe 20-30% of w/e currency drop rate buff would be a good amount. But I seriously hope GGG sticks w/ UNIQUE theme of crafting our own gear from whites and currency vs just finding magics and rares like candy cuz thats so boring and makes anything other than uniques feel just like gold whereas before they all felt meaningful. Thats the worse thing about D4 is no gear during playthrough matters cuz you know another rare/legendary/uique is a few clicks away. It's the most boring thing ever. 25 hours into the game.

You sound like the game is constantly dropping you perfect rares that you can all use for your build...
All a few more rare drops actually do is giving you more regal orbs when you disenchant them. So giving you the option to better craft your own rares. And maybe sometimes you get a good rare as is. I really doubt i am the only one who constantly gets rare weapons of other classes or items with the wrong main attribute. |
